Samuel 30 - King James Bible with Strong Numbers

H1732And it came to pass, when DavidH582and his menH935were come[H8800] H6860to ZiklagH7992on the thirdH3117dayH6003, that the AmalekitesH6584had invaded[H8804] H5045the southH6860, and ZiklagH5221, and smitten[H8686] H6860ZiklagH8313, and burned[H8799] H784it with fire;

H802And had taken the womenH7617captives[H8799] H4191, that were therein: they slew[H8689] H376not anyH1419, either greatH6996or smallH5090, but carried them away[H8799] H3212, and went[H8799] H1870on their way.

H1732So DavidH582and his menH935came[H8799] H5892to the cityH8313, and, behold, it was burned[H8803] H784with fireH802; and their wivesH1121, and their sonsH1323, and their daughtersH7617, were taken captives[H8738] .

H1732Then DavidH5971and the peopleH5375that were with him lifted up[H8799] H6963their voiceH1058and wept[H8799] H3581, until they had no more powerH1058to weep[H8800] .

H1732And David'sH8147twoH802wivesH7617were taken captives[H8738] H293, AhinoamH3159the JezreelitessH26, and AbigailH802the wifeH5037of NabalH3761the Carmelite.

H1732And DavidH3966was greatlyH3334distressed[H8799] H5971; for the peopleH559spake[H8804] H5619of stoning[H8800] H5315him, because the soulH5971of all the peopleH4843was grieved[H8804] H376, every manH1121for his sonsH1323and for his daughtersH1732: but DavidH2388encouraged[H8691] H3068himself in the LORDH430his God.

H1732And DavidH559said[H8799] H54to AbiatharH3548the priestH288, Ahimelech'sH1121sonH5066, I pray thee, bring me hither[H8685] H646the ephodH54. And AbiatharH5066brought[H8686] H646thither the ephodH1732to David.

H1732And DavidH7592enquired[H8799] H3068at the LORDH559, saying[H8800] H7291, Shall I pursue[H8799] H310afterH1416this troopH5381? shall I overtake[H8686] H559them? And he answered[H8799] H7291him, Pursue[H8798] H5381: for thou shalt surely[H8687] H5381overtake[H8686] H5337them, and without fail[H8687] H5337recover[H8686]  all .

H1732So DavidH3212went[H8799] H8337, he and the sixH3967hundredH376menH935that were with him, and came[H8799] H5158to the brookH1308BesorH3498, where those that were left behind[H8737] H5975stayed[H8804] .

H1732But DavidH7291pursued[H8799] H702, he and fourH3967hundredH376menH3967: for two hundredH5975abode behind[H8799] H6296, which were so faint[H8765] H5674that they could not go over[H8800] H5158the brookH1308Besor.

H4672And they found[H8799] H376an EgyptianH4713 H7704in the fieldH3947, and brought[H8799] H1732him to DavidH5414, and gave[H8799] H3899him breadH398, and he did eat[H8799] H8248; and they made him drink[H8686] H4325water;

H5414And they gave[H8799] H6400him a pieceH1690of a cakeH8147of figs, and twoH6778clusters of raisinsH398: and when he had eaten[H8799] H7307, his spiritH7725came again[H8799] H398to him: for he had eaten[H8804] H3899no breadH8354, nor drunk[H8804] H4325any waterH7969, threeH3117daysH7969and threeH3915nights.

H1732And DavidH559said[H8799] H559unto him, To whom belongest thou? and whence art thou? And he said[H8799] H5288, I am a young manH4713of EgyptH5650, servantH376to an AmalekiteH6003 H113; and my masterH5800left[H8799] H7969me, because threeH3117daysH2470agone I fell sick[H8804] .

H6584We made an invasion[H8804] H5045upon the southH3774of the CherethitesH3063, and upon the coast which belongeth to JudahH5045, and upon the southH3612of CalebH8313; and we burned[H8804] H6860ZiklagH784with fire.

H1732And DavidH559said[H8799] H3381to him, Canst thou bring me down[H8686] H1416to this companyH559? And he said[H8799] H7650, Swear[H8734] H430unto me by GodH4191, that thou wilt neither kill[H8686] H518me, norH5462deliver[H8686] H3027me into the handsH113of my masterH3381, and I will bring thee down[H8686] H1416to this company.

H3381And when he had brought him down[H8686] H5203, behold, they were spread abroad[H8803] H6440upon allH776the earthH398, eating[H8802] H8354and drinking[H8802] H2287, and dancing[H8802] H1419, because of all the greatH7998spoilH3947that they had taken[H8804] H776out of the landH6430of the PhilistinesH776, and out of the landH3063of Judah.

H1732And DavidH5221smote[H8686] H5399them from the twilightH6153even unto the eveningH4283of the next dayH4422: and there escaped[H8738] H376not a manH702of them, save fourH3967hundredH5288youngH376menH7392, which rode[H8804] H1581upon camelsH5127, and fled[H8799] .

H1732And DavidH5337recovered[H8686] H6002all that the AmalekitesH3947had carried away[H8804] H1732: and DavidH5337rescued[H8689] H8147his twoH802wives.

H5737And there was nothing lacking[H8738] H4480to them, neitherH6996smallH1419nor greatH1121, neither sonsH1323nor daughtersH7998, neither spoilH3947, nor any thing that they had taken[H8804] H1732to them: DavidH7725recovered[H8689]  all.

H1732And DavidH3947took[H8799] H6629all the flocksH1241and the herdsH5090, which they drave[H8804] H6440beforeH1931thoseH4735other cattleH559, and said[H8799] H1732, This is David'sH7998spoil.

H1732And DavidH935came[H8799] H3967to the two hundredH582menH6296, which were so faint[H8765] H3212that they could not follow[H8800] H310 H1732DavidH3427, whom they had made also to abide[H8686] H5158at the brookH1308BesorH3318: and they went forth[H8799] H7125to meet[H8800] H1732DavidH7125, and to meet[H8800] H5971the peopleH1732that were with him: and when DavidH5066came near[H8799] H5971to the peopleH7592, he saluted[H8799] H7965  them.

H6030Then answered[H8799] H7451all the wickedH376menH1100and men of BelialH582, of thoseH1980that went[H8804] H1732with DavidH559, and said[H8799] H1980, Because they went[H8804] H5414not with us, we will not give[H8799] H7998them ought of the spoilH5337that we have recovered[H8689] H376, save to every manH802his wifeH1121and his childrenH5090, that they may lead them away[H8799] H3212, and depart[H8799] .

H559Then said[H8799] H1732DavidH6213, Ye shall not do so[H8799] H251, my brethrenH3068, with that which the LORDH5414hath given[H8804] H8104us, who hath preserved[H8799] H5414us, and delivered[H8799] H1416the companyH935that came[H8802] H3027against us into our hand.

H8085For who will hearken[H8799] H1697unto you in this matterH2506? but as his partH3381is that goeth down[H8802] [H8675] H3381 [H8717] H4421to the battleH2506, so shall his partH3427be that tarrieth[H8802] H3627by the stuffH2505: they shall part[H8799] H3162alike.

H3117And it was so from that dayH4605forwardH7760, that he made[H8799] H2706it a statuteH4941and an ordinanceH3478for IsraelH3117unto this day.

H1732And when DavidH935came[H8799] H6860to ZiklagH7971, he sent[H8762] H7998of the spoilH2205unto the eldersH3063of JudahH7453, even to his friendsH559, saying[H8800] H1293, Behold a presentH7998for you of the spoilH341of the enemies[H8802] H3068of the LORD;

H834To themH1008which were in BethelH5045, and to them which were in southH7418RamothH3492, and to them which were in Jattir,

H6177And to them which were in AroerH8224, and to them which were in SiphmothH851, and to them which were in Eshtemoa,

H7403And to them which were in RachalH5892, and to them which were in the citiesH3397of the JerahmeelitesH5892, and to them which were in the citiesH7017of the Kenites,

H2767And to them which were in HormahH3565, and to them which were in ChorashanH6269, and to them which were in Athach,

H2275And to them which were in HebronH4725, and to all the placesH1732where DavidH582himself and his menH1980were wont to haunt[H8694] .
