We all have different gifts. Each gift came because of the grace (kindness) that God gave us. If a person has the gift of prophecy, {\cf2\super [131]} then that person should use that gift with the faith he has.

So I tell you this: I send to you prophets {\cf2\super [355]} and wise men and teachers. You will kill some of these people. You will hang some of them on crosses. You will beat some of these people in your synagogues. {\cf2\super [356]} You will chase them from town to town.


“Then the servant that got two bags of money came to the master. The servant said, ‘Master, you gave me two bags of money to care for. So I used your two bags of money to earn two more.’


This is why the Wisdom of God said, ‘I will send prophets and apostles {\cf2\super [216]} to them. Some of my prophets and apostles will be killed by evil men. Others will be treated badly.’


In the church (group of believers) at Antioch there were some prophets {\cf2\super [243]} and teachers. They were: Barnabas, Simeon (also called Niger), Lucius (from the city of Cyrene), Manaen (who had grown up with Herod, {\cf2\super [244]} the ruler) and Saul.


Judas and Silas were also prophets. {\cf2\super [321]} They said many things to help the brothers (believers) and make them stronger.


‘God says:\par In the last days,\par I will pour out (give) my Spirit {\cf2\super [25]} \par on all people.\par Your sons and daughters will prophesy. {\cf2\super [26]} \par Your young men will see visions. {\cf2\super [27]} \par Your old men will have special dreams.\par


He had four daughters who were not married. These daughters had the gift of prophesying. {\cf2\super [416]}


I want very much to see you. I want to give you some spiritual gift to make you strong.


God has given me a special gift. That is why I have something to say to every person among you. Don’t think that you are better than you really are. You must see yourself like you really are. Decide what you are by the kind of faith God has given you.


I may have the gift of prophecy {\cf2\super [93]} ; I may understand all the secret things \{of God\} and know everything; and I may have faith so great that I can move mountains. But even with all these things, if I don’t have love, then I am nothing.


Love is the thing you should try for. And you should truly want to have the spiritual gifts. And the gift you should want most is to be able to prophesy. {\cf2\super [95]}


But suppose you are all prophesying {\cf2\super [101]} and a person comes in that does not believe or a person without understanding comes in. If you are all prophesying, then that person’s sin will be shown to him, and he will be judged by all the things you say.


And only two or three prophets {\cf2\super [102]} should speak. The others should judge what they say.


Is Apollos important? No! Is Paul important? No! We are only servants of God who helped you believe. Each one of us did the work God gave us to do.


I wish all people were like me. But each person has his own gift from God. One person has one gift, another person has another gift.


If you want to give, then your gift will be accepted. Your gift will be judged by what you have, not by what you don’t have.


People who lived in other times were not told that secret truth. But now, through the Spirit, {\cf2\super [20]} God has shown that secret truth to his holy apostles {\cf2\super [21]} and prophets. {\cf2\super [22]}


And that same Christ gave gifts to people—he made some people to be apostles, {\cf2\super [31]} some people to be prophets, {\cf2\super [32]} some people to go and tell the Good News, {\cf2\super [33]} and some people to have the work of caring for and teaching God’s people.


All of us who have grown spiritually to be mature (perfect) should think this way too. And if there is any of these things you don’t agree with, God will make it clear to you.


Don’t treat prophecy {\cf2\super [17]} like it is not important.


Most important, you must understand this: No prophecy {\cf2\super [3]} in the Scriptures {\cf2\super [4]} ever comes from a person’s own interpretation.
