That person is confident.\par He will not be afraid.\par He will defeat his enemies.\par


Lord, you really blessed the king.\par You put the gold crown on his head.\par


Look at the powerful things\par the Lord does.\par See the awesome things he has done\par on earth.\par


Lord, show me your right way of living.\par People are looking for my weaknesses,\par so show me how you want me to live.\par


My God will punish the people who\par turned against me.\par God will be true to me,\par and he will destroy those people.\par


Why? Because you saved me\par from all my troubles.\par I saw my enemies defeated.\par


My enemies attack me constantly.\par There are too many fighters to count.\par


They hide together\par and watch my every move,\par hoping for some way to kill me.\par


I will sing my songs of praise to you.\par Why? Because you are my place\par of safety\par high in the mountains.\par You are the God who loves me!\par

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is the Father who is full of mercy. He is the God of all comfort.


What we tell you now is the Lord’s own message. We who are living now might still be living when the Lord comes again. We who are living at that time will be with the Lord, but not before those people who have already died.


Yes, you will suffer for a short time. But after that, God will make everything right. He will make you strong. He will support you and keep you from falling. He is the God that gives all grace (kindness). He called you to share in his glory in Christ. That glory will continue forever.


Surely as the Lord lives, the Lord himself will punish Saul. Maybe Saul will die naturally or maybe Saul will be killed in battle.
