¹ Praise the Lord!\par A person who fears and respects the Lord will be very happy.\par That person loves God’s commands.\par

² His descendants {\cf2\super [579]} will be great on earth.\par The descendants of good people\par will be truly blessed.\par

³ That person’s family will be very rich.\par And his goodness will continue forever.\par

⁴ To good people, God is like a light\par shining in the dark.\par God is good and kind and merciful.\par

⁵ It is good for a person\par to be kind and generous.\par It is good for a person\par to be fair in his business.\par

⁶ That person will never fall.\par A good person will be remembered forever.\par

⁷ He will not be afraid of bad news.\par That person is confident\par because he trusts the Lord.\par

⁸ That person is confident.\par He will not be afraid.\par He will defeat his enemies.\par

⁹ That person freely gives things\par to poor people.\par And his goodness will continue forever.\par

¹⁰ Wicked people see this and become angry.\par They will grind their teeth in anger,\par but then they disappear.\par Wicked people will not get\par what they want most.\par
