Psalm 56 - Easy To Read Version

¹ God, people have attacked me,\par so be merciful to me.\par They have been constantly\par chasing me and fighting me.\par

² My enemies attack me constantly.\par There are too many fighters to count.\par

³ When I am afraid,\par I put my trust in you.\par

⁴ I trust God, so I am not afraid\par of what people can do to me!\par I praise God for his promise to me.\par

⁵ My enemies are always\par twisting my words.\par They are always making plans against me.\par

⁶ They hide together\par and watch my every move,\par hoping for some way to kill me.\par

⁷ God, send them away\par because of the bad things they did.\par Send them away to \{suffer\}\par the anger of foreign nations.\par

⁸ You know I am very upset.\par You know how much I have cried.\par Surely you have kept an account\par of all my tears.\par

⁹ So, defeat my enemies\par when I call to you for help.\par I know you can do it.\par You are God!\par

¹⁰ I praise God for his promise.\par I praise the Lord for his promise to me.\par

¹¹ I trust God, so I am not afraid\par of what people can do to me!\par

¹² God, I made special promises to you.\par And I will do what I promised.\par I will give you my thank offering.\par

¹³ Why? Because you saved me from death.\par You kept me from being defeated.\par So I will worship God in the light\par that only living people can see.\par
