The people of Israel heard about King Solomon’s decision. They respected and honored him very much because he was wise. They saw that he had the wisdom of God [18] in making the right decisions.


The king of Assyria only has men. But we have the Lord our God with us! Our God will help us. He will fight our battles!” So Hezekiah king of Judah encouraged the people and made them feel stronger.


God is our storehouse of strength.\par In him, we can always find help\par in times of trouble.\par


The Lord All-Powerful is with us.\par The God of Jacob is our place of safety.\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [284]})\i0 \par


When the king sits and judges people, he must look carefully to separate the evil \{from the good\}.


\{Lord\} you are a safe place\par for poor people that have needs.\par Many problems begin to defeat these people,\par but you protect them.\par \{Lord\} you are like a house protecting people\par from floods and heat.\par Troubles are like terrible winds and rain.\par The rain hits the wall and runs down,\par but the people in the house are not hurt.\par


The Lord is very great. He lives in a very high place. The Lord fills Zion {\cf2\super [299]} with fairness and goodness.


The Lord will wash away the blood {\cf2\super [39]} from the women of Zion. {\cf2\super [40]} The Lord will wash all the blood out of Jerusalem. God will use the spirit of justice \{and judge fairly\}. And he will use the spirit of burning, \{and make everything pure\}.


The family leaders of Judah will encourage the people. They will say, ‘The Lord All-Powerful is your God. He makes us strong.’


God sent him (Jesus). And he tells the things that God says. God gives \{him\} the Spirit {\cf2\super [56]} fully.


“I can do nothing alone. I judge only the way I am told. So my judgment is right. Why? Because I don’t try to please myself. But I want to please the One (God) who sent me.


The Spirit gives one person the ability to speak with wisdom. And the same Spirit gives another person the ability to speak with knowledge.


Why? Because the Lord your God is going with you. He will help you fight against your enemies. The Lord your God will help you win!’


Remember, I commanded you to be strong and brave. So don’t be scared, because the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
