Isaiah 25 - Easy To Read Version1 Lord, you are my God.\par I honor you and praise your name.\par You have done amazing things.\par The words you said long ago\par are completely true.\par Everything has happened\par exactly as you said it would.\par 2 You have destroyed the city.\par It was a city protected by strong walls.\par But now it is only a pile of rocks.\par The foreign palace has been destroyed.\par It will never be built again.\par 3 People from powerful nations\par will honor you.\par Powerful people from strong cities\par will fear you.\par 4 \{Lord\} you are a safe place\par for poor people that have needs.\par Many problems begin to defeat these people,\par but you protect them.\par \{Lord\} you are like a house protecting people\par from floods and heat.\par Troubles are like terrible winds and rain.\par The rain hits the wall and runs down,\par but the people in the house are not hurt.\par 5 The enemy shouts and makes noise.\par The terrible enemy shouts challenges.\par But you, \{God,\} will stop them.\par In the desert during the summer\par \{plants wilt and fall to the ground\}.\par In the same way, you will defeat the enemy\par and force them to their knees.\par Thick clouds stop the summer heat.\par In the same way, you will stop the shouts\par of the terrible enemy.\par 6 At that time, the Lord All-Powerful will give a feast for all the people on this mountain. At the feast, there will be the best foods and wines. The meat will be tender and good. 7 But now, there is a veil {\cf2\super [237]} covering all nations and people. This veil is called, “death.” 8 But death will be destroyed forever. {\cf2\super [238]} And the Lord my Master will wipe away every tear from every face. \{In the past,\} all of his people were sad. But God will take away that sadness from the earth. All of this will happen because the Lord said it would. 9 At that time, people will say,\par “Here is our God!\par He is the One we have been waiting for.\par He has come to save us.\par We have been waiting for our Lord.\par So we will rejoice and be happy\par when the Lord saves us.”\par 10 The Lord’s power is on this mountain.\par And Moab {\cf2\super [239]} will be defeated.\par The Lord will trample (walk on) the enemy.\par It will be like walking on straw\par in a pile of waste.\par 11 The Lord will spread his arms\par like a person that is swimming.\par Then the Lord will gather\par all the things the people are proud of.\par The Lord will gather\par all the beautiful things they made.\par And he will throw those things away.\par 12 The Lord will destroy the people’s\par high walls and safe places.\par The Lord will throw them down\par into the dust on the ground.\par |
