"Do not stareat me because I am swarthy,For the sunhas burnedme. My mother'ssonswere angrywith me; They mademe caretakerof the vineyards,[But] I have not takencareof my own vineyard.
For You have beena defensefor the helpless,A defensefor the needyin his distress,A refugefrom the storm,a shadefrom the heat;For the breathof the ruthlessIs like a [rain] storm[against] a wall.
Eachwill be like a refugefrom the windAnd a shelterfrom the storm,Like streamsof waterin a drycountry,Like the shadeof a hugerockin a parchedland.
"The afflictedand needyare seekingwater,but thereis none,And their tongueis parchedwith thirst;I, the LORD,will answerthem Myself, [As] the Godof IsraelI will not forsakethem.
"They will not hungeror thirst,Norwill the scorchingheator sunstrikethem down;For He who hascompassionon them will leadthem And will guidethem to springsof water.
Therefore,thussaysthe LordGOD,"Behold,My servantswill eat,but you will be hungry.Behold,My servantswill drink,but you will be thirsty.Behold,My servantswill rejoice,but you will be putto shame.
When the suncameup Godappointeda scorchingeastwind,and the sunbeatdownon Jonah'sheadso that he becamefaintand beggedwith [all] his soulto die,saying,"Deathis betterto me thanlife."
yethe hasno[firm] rootin himself,but is [only] temporary,and when afflictionorpersecutionarisesbecauseof the word,immediatelyhe falls away.
"But when the sunhad risen,they were scorched;and becausethey hadnoroot,they withered away.
"Blessedare thosewho hungerand thirstfor righteousness,for they shall be satisfied.
and they haveno[firm] rootin themselves,but are [only] temporary;then,when afflictionorpersecutionarisesbecauseof the word,immediatelythey fall away.
"And afterthe sunhad risen,it was scorched;and becauseit hadnoroot,it withered away.
"HE HAS FILLEDTHE HUNGRYWITH GOOD THINGS;And sent awaythe richempty-handed.
"Blessed[are] you who hungernow,for you shall be satisfied.Blessed[are] you who weepnow,for you shall laugh.
but whoeverdrinksof the waterthat I will givehim shall neverthirst;but the waterthat I will givehim will becomein him a wellof waterspringingup to eternallife."
For the sunriseswith a scorching windand withersthe grass;and its flowerfalls offand the beautyof its appearanceis destroyed;sotoothe rich manin the midst of his pursuitswill fade away.
and He will wipe awayeverytearfrom their eyes;and there will nolongerbe [any] death;there will nolongerbe [any] mourning,orcrying,orpain;the first thingshave passed away."
