"Now therefore,behold,the Lordis about to bringon them the strongand abundantwatersof the Euphrates,[Even] the kingof Assyriaand allhis glory;And it will riseup overallits channelsand gooverallits banks.
"Behold,I, even I am bringingthe floodof waterupon the earth,to destroyallfleshin whichis the breathof life,from underheaven;everythingthat is on the earthshall perish.
Thereforethussaysthe LORDconcerningthe kingof Assyria,"He will not cometo thiscityor shootan arrowthere;and he will not comebeforeit with a shieldorthrowup a siegerampagainstit.
and the restof the nationswhichthe greatand honorableOsnappardeportedand settledin the cityof Samaria,and in the restof the regionbeyondthe River.Now
There is a riverwhose streamsmakegladthe cityof God,The holydwellingplacesof the MostHigh.
May he also rulefrom seato seaAnd from the Riverto the endsof the earth.
Thereforethe Lord,the GODof hosts,will senda wastingdiseaseamong his stoutwarriors;And underhis glorya firewill be kindledlike a burningflame.
Woeto Assyria,the rodof My angerAnd the staffin whose handsis My indignation,
And the LORDwill utterlydestroyThe tongueof the Seaof Egypt;And He will waveHis handoverthe RiverWith His scorchingwind;And He will strikeit into sevenstreamsAnd make [men] walkover dry-shod.
Becauseyou have said,"We have madea covenantwith death,And with Sheolwe have madea pact.The overwhelmingscourgewill not reachus whenit passesby, For we have madefalsehoodour refugeand we have concealedourselves with deception."
"I will makejusticethe measuringlineAnd righteousnessthe level;Then hailwill sweepawaythe refugeof liesAnd the waterswill overflowthe secretplace.
Behold,the Lordhas a strongand mighty[agent]; As a stormof hail,a tempestof destruction,Like a stormof mightyoverflowingwaters,He has cast[it] downto the earthwith [His] hand.
"Whenyou passthrough the waters,I will be with you; And through the rivers,they will not overflowyou. Whenyou walkthroughthe fire,you will not be scorched,Norwill the flameburnyou.
So they will fearthe nameof the LORDfrom the westAnd His gloryfrom the risingof the sun,For He will comelike a rushingstreamWhich the windof the LORDdrives.
"The LORDwill bringon you, on your people,and on your father'shousesuchdaysas have nevercomesincethe daythat Ephraimseparatedfrom Judah,the kingof Assyria."
In that daythe Lordwill shavewith a razor,hiredfrom regionsbeyondthe Euphrates([that is], with the kingof Assyria),the headand the hairof the legs;and it will alsoremovethe beard.
Thussaysthe LORD:"Behold,watersare going to risefrom the northAnd becomean overflowingtorrent,And overflowthe landand allits fullness,The cityand those who livein it; And the menwill cryout, And everyinhabitantof the landwill wail.
"The seahas comeup overBabylon;She has been engulfedwith its tumultuouswaves.
For thussaysthe LordGOD,"When I makeyou a desolatecity,like the citieswhichare not inhabited,when I bringup the deepoveryou and the greatwaterscoveryou,
"His sonswill mobilizeand assemblea multitudeof greatforces;and one of them will keepon comingand overflowand passthrough,that he may againwagewarup to his [very] fortress.
"The overflowingforceswill be floodedawaybeforehim and shattered,and alsothe princeof the covenant.
"Then afterthe sixty-twoweeksthe Messiahwill be cutoffand havenothing,and the peopleof the princewho is to comewill destroythe cityand the sanctuary.And its end[will come] with a flood;even to the endthere will be war;desolationsare determined.
"Becauseof thiswill not the landquakeAnd everyonewho dwellsin it mourn?Indeed, allof it will riseup like the Nile,And it will be tossedaboutAnd subsidelike the Nileof Egypt.
The LordGODof hosts,The One who touchesthe landso that it melts,And allthose who dwellin it mourn,And allof it risesup like the NileAnd subsideslike the Nileof Egypt;
For her woundis incurable,For it has cometo Judah;It has reachedthe gateof my people,[Even] to Jerusalem.
And He will ariseand shepherd[His flock] In the strengthof the LORD,In the majestyof the nameof the LORDHis God.And they will remain,Becauseat that timeHe will be greatTo the endsof the earth.
ThisOnewill be [our] peace.Whenthe Assyrianinvadesour land,Whenhe trampleson our citadels,Then we will raiseagainsthim Sevenshepherdsand eightleadersof men.
But with an overflowingfloodHe will makea completeendof its site,And will pursueHis enemiesinto darkness.
he is likea manbuildinga house,whodugdeepand laida foundationon the rock;and when a floodoccurred,the torrentburst againstthat houseand couldnot shakeit, becauseit had been wellbuilt.
And he saidto me, "The waterswhichyou sawwherethe harlotsits,are peoplesand multitudesand nationsand tongues.
