Then I said,"Woeis me, for I am ruined!BecauseI am a manof uncleanlips,And I liveamonga peopleof uncleanlips;For my eyeshave seenthe King,the LORDof hosts."
Now the sunroseupon him justas he crossedoverPenuel,and he was limpingon his thigh.
Whois thisKingof glory?The LORDof hosts,He is the Kingof glory.Selah.
and they sawthe Godof Israel;and underHis feetthere appeared to be a pavementof sapphire,as clearas the skyitself.
He saidalso, "I am the Godof your father,the Godof Abraham,the Godof Isaac,and the Godof Jacob."Then Moseshidhis face,for he was afraidto lookat God.
But He said,"You cannotseeMy face,for nomancan seeMe and live!"
Then Mosessaidto the LORD,"Please,Lord,I have neverbeen eloquent,neitherrecentlynorin timepast,norsinceYou have spokento Your servant;for I am slowof speechand slowof tongue."
But Mosesspokebeforethe LORD,saying,"Behold,the sonsof Israelhave not listenedto me; howthen will Pharaohlistento me, for I am unskilledin speech?"
But Mosessaidbeforethe LORD,"Behold,I am unskilledin speech;howthen will Pharaohlistento me?"
From the endsof the earthwe hearsongs,"Gloryto the RighteousOne,"But I say,"Woeto me! Woeto me! Alasfor me! The treacherousdealtreacherously,And the treacherousdealverytreacherously."
Then the Lordsaid,"Becausethispeopledrawnearwith their wordsAnd honorMe with their lipservice,But they removetheir heartsfarfrom Me, And their reverencefor Me consistsof traditionlearned[by rote],
Your eyeswill seethe Kingin His beauty;They will beholda far-distantland.
For your handsare defiledwith bloodAnd your fingerswith iniquity;Your lipshave spokenfalsehood,Your tonguemutterswickedness.
For allof us have becomelike one who is unclean,And allour righteousdeedsare like a filthygarment;And allof us witherlike a leaf,And our iniquities,like the wind,takeus away.
Then I said,"Alas,LordGOD!Behold,I do not knowhow to speak,BecauseI am a youth."
"I will makeher princesand her wisemendrunk,Her governors,her prefectsand her mightymen,That they may sleepa perpetualsleepand not wakeup," Declaresthe King,whose nameis the LORDof hosts.
"Sonof man,you livein the midstof the rebellioushouse,whohave eyesto seebut do not see,earsto hearbut do not hear;for they are a rebellioushouse.
"They cometo you as peoplecome,and sitbeforeyou [as] My peopleand hearyour words,but they do not dothem, for they dothe lustfuldesires[expressed] by their mouth,[and] their heartgoesaftertheir gain.
Now whileI was speakingand praying,and confessingmy sinand the sinof my peopleIsrael,and presentingmy supplicationbeforethe LORDmy Godin behalfof the holymountainof my God,
I heardand my inwardpartstrembled,At the soundmy lipsquivered.Decayentersmy bones,And in my placeI tremble.BecauseI must waitquietlyfor the dayof distress,For the peopleto arise[who] will invadeus.
Then the sonsof Israelspoketo Moses,saying,"Behold,we perish,we are dying,we are alldying!
So Manoahsaidto his wife,"We will surelydie,for we have seenGod."
When Gideonsawthat he was the angelof the LORD,he said,"Alas,O LordGOD!For nowI have seenthe angelof the LORDfaceto face."
