He said,"I heardthe soundof You in the garden,and I was afraidbecauseI was naked;so I hidmyself."
And the manand his wifewere bothnakedand were not ashamed.
And He said,"Whotoldyou that you were naked?Have you eatenfrom the treeof whichI commandedyou not to eat?"
Then the eyesof bothof them were opened,and they knewthat they were naked;and they sewedfigleavestogetherand madethemselvesloincoverings.
"Therefore,I would be dismayedat His presence;[When] I consider,I am terrifiedof Him.
"Have I coveredmy transgressionslike Adam,By hidingmy iniquityin my bosom,
My fleshtremblesfor fearof You, And I am afraidof Your judgments.Ayin.
Allthe peopleperceivedthe thunderand the lightningflashesand the soundof the trumpetand the mountainsmoking;and when the peoplesaw[it], they trembledand stoodat a distance.
Then they saidto Moses,"Speakto us yourselfand we will listen;but let not Godspeakto us, orwe will die."
He saidalso, "I am the Godof your father,the Godof Abraham,the Godof Isaac,and the Godof Jacob."Then Moseshidhis face,for he was afraidto lookat God.
Now when Mosessawthat the peoplewere out of control--for Aaronhad let them getout of controlto be a derisionamong their enemies--
Sinnersin Zionare terrified;Tremblinghas seizedthe godless."Whoamong us can livewith the consumingfire?Whoamong us can livewith continualburning?"
"Your nakednesswill be uncovered,Your shamealsowill be exposed;I will takevengeanceand will not sparea man."
"Of whomwere you worriedand fearfulWhenyou lied,and did not rememberMe Norgive[Me] a thought?Was I not silenteven for a longtimeSo you do not fearMe?
Nowthen whyshould we die?For thisgreatfirewill consumeus; ifwe hearthe voiceof the LORDour Godanylonger,then we will die.
in whateverour heartcondemnsus; for Godis greaterthan our heartand knowsall things.
("Behold,I am cominglikea thief.Blessedis the one who stays awakeand keepshis clothes,sothat he will not walk aboutnakedand men will not seehis shame.")
