Now Hezekiahhadimmenserichesand honor;and he madefor himself treasuriesfor silver,gold,preciousstones,spices,shieldsand allkinds of valuablearticles,
At the turnof the yearKingNebuchadnezzarsentand broughthim to Babylonwith the valuablearticlesof the houseof the LORD,and he madehis kinsmanZedekiahkingoverJudahand Jerusalem.
He has stretchedHis handout overthe sea,He has made the kingdomstremble;The LORDhas givena commandconcerningCanaanto demolishits strongholds.
Whohas plannedthisagainstTyre,the bestowerof crowns,Whosemerchantswere princes,whosetraderswere the honoredof the earth?
Beatyour breastsfor the pleasantfields,for the fruitfulvine,
"Wail,you shepherds,and cry;And wallow[in ashes], you mastersof the flock;For the daysof your slaughterand your dispersionshave come,And you will falllike a choicevessel.
So allthe armyof the Chaldeanswho[were] with the captainof the guardbrokedownallthe wallsaroundJerusalem.
She will be a placefor the spreadingof netsin the midstof the sea,for I have spoken,'declaresthe LordGOD,'and she will becomespoilfor the nations.
They will bringyou downto the pit,And you will diethe deathof those who are slainIn the heartof the seas.
"Alsotheir godswith their metalimages[and] their preciousvesselsof silverand goldhe will takeinto captivityto Egypt,and he on his partwill refrainfrom [attacking] the kingof the Northfor [some] years.
Thoughhe flourishesamongthe reeds,An eastwindwill come,The windof the LORDcomingup from the wilderness;And his fountainwill becomedryAnd his springwill be driedup; It will plunder[his] treasuryof everypreciousarticle.
Thereforebecauseyou imposeheavyrenton the poorAnd exacta tributeof grainfrom them, [Though] you have builthousesof well-hewnstone,Yet you will not livein them; You have plantedpleasantvineyards,yet you will not drinktheir wine.
Plunderthe silver!Plunderthe gold!For thereis nolimitto the treasure--Wealthfrom everykind of desirableobject.
"but I scatteredthem with a stormwindamongallthe nationswhomthey have not known.Thus the landis desolatedbehindthem sothat noone wentbackand forth,for they madethe pleasantlanddesolate."
