The LORDroarsfrom ZionAnd uttersHis voicefrom Jerusalem,And the heavensand the earthtremble.But the LORDis a refugefor His peopleAnd a strongholdto the sonsof Israel.
"Therefore you shall prophesyagainstthem allthesewords,and you shall sayto them, 'The LORDwill roarfrom on highAnd utterHis voicefrom His holyhabitation;He will roarmightilyagainstHis fold.He will shoutlike those who tread[the grapes], Againstallthe inhabitantsof the earth.
"Thoughthey hideon the summitof Carmel,I will searchthem out and takethem from there;And thoughthey concealthemselves from My sighton the floorof the sea,From thereI will commandthe serpentand it will bitethem.
Howlongis the landto mournAnd the vegetationof the countrysideto wither?For the wickednessof those who dwellin it, Animalsand birdshave been snatchedaway,Because[men] have said,"He will not seeour latterending."
The LORDwill goforthlike a warrior,He will arouse[His] zeallike a manof war.He will uttera shout,yes,He will raisea warcry.He will prevailagainstHis enemies.
He rebukesthe seaand makesit dry;He driesup allthe rivers.Bashanand Carmelwither;The blossomsof Lebanonwither.
The LORDuttersHis voicebeforeHis army;SurelyHis campis verygreat,For strongis he who carriesout His word.The dayof the LORDis indeedgreatand veryawesome,And who can endureit?
I will encounterthem like a bearrobbedof her cubs,And I will tearopen their chests;ThereI will also devourthem like a lioness,[As] a wildbeastwould tearthem.
And I will bringIsraelbackto his pastureand he will grazeon Carmeland Bashan,and his desirewill be satisfiedin the hillcountryof Ephraimand Gilead.
"JudahmournsAnd her gateslanguish;They siton the groundin mourning,And the cryof Jerusalemhas ascended.
It will blossomprofuselyAnd rejoicewith rejoicingand shoutof joy.The gloryof Lebanonwill be givento it, The majestyof Carmeland Sharon.They will seethe gloryof the LORD,The majestyof our God.
The landmourns[and] pinesaway,Lebanonis shamed[and] withers;Sharonis like a desertplain,And Bashanand Carmellose[their foliage].
The terrorof a kingis like the growlingof a lion;He who provokeshim to angerforfeitshis own life.
Now [there was] a manin Maonwhose businesswas in Carmel;and the manwas veryrich,and he had threethousandsheepand a thousandgoats.And it cameabout while he was shearinghis sheepin Carmel
The nationsmadean uproar,the kingdomstottered;He raisedHis voice,the earthmelted.
"The prophetswhowere beforeme and beforeyou from ancienttimesprophesiedagainstmanylandsand againstgreatkingdoms,of warand of calamityand of pestilence.
They will walkafterthe LORD,He will roarlike a lion;IndeedHe will roarAnd [His] sonswill cometremblingfrom the west.
To You, O LORD,I cry;For firehas devouredthe pasturesof the wildernessAnd the flamehas burnedup allthe treesof the field.
The voiceof the LORDis powerful,The voiceof the LORDis majestic.
