And Davidwentup the ascentof the [Mount of] Olives,and weptas he went,and his headwas coveredand he walkedbarefoot.Then allthe peoplewhowere with him eachcoveredhis headand wentup weepingas they went.
Therefore Zadokand Abiatharreturnedthe arkof Godto Jerusalemand remainedthere.
The kingcoveredhis faceand criedout with a loudvoice,"O my sonAbsalom,O Absalom,my son,my son!"
Then Joabcameinto the houseto the kingand said,"Todayyou have coveredwith shamethe facesof allyour servants,who todayhave savedyour lifeand the livesof your sonsand daughters,the livesof your wives,and the livesof your concubines,
Then Mordecaireturnedto the king'sgate.But Hamanhurriedhome,mourning,with [his] headcovered.
My tearshave beenmy fooddayand night,While [they] sayto me alldaylong, "Whereis your God?"
Whyare you in despair,O my soul?And whyare you disturbedwithinme? Hopein God,for I shall againpraiseHim, The helpof my countenanceand my God.
"Groansilently;makenomourningfor the dead.Bindon your turbanand putyour shoeson your feet,and do not cover[your] mustacheand do not eatthe breadof men."
Your turbanswill be on your headsand your shoeson your feet.You will not mournand you will not weep,but you will rotawayin your iniquitiesand you will groanto oneanother.
In that dayHis feetwill standon the Mountof Olives,whichis in frontof Jerusalemon the east;and the Mountof Oliveswill be splitin its middlefrom eastto westby a verylargevalley,so that halfof the mountainwill movetoward the northand the other halftoward the south.
"Blessedare thosewho mourn,for they shall be comforted.
WhenHe approachedBethphageand Bethany,nearthe mountthat is calledOlivet,He senttwoof the disciples,
As soon as He was approaching,nearthe descentof the Mountof Olives,the wholecrowdof the disciplesbeganto praiseGodjoyfullywith a loudvoicefor allthe miracleswhichthey had seen,
WhenHe approached[Jerusalem], He sawthe cityand weptoverit,
Nowduring the dayHe was teachingin the temple,but at eveningHe would goout and spend the nighton the mountthat is calledOlivet.
And He cameout and proceededas was His customto the Mountof Olives;and the disciplesalsofollowedHim.
Thenthey returnedto Jerusalemfrom the mountcalledOlivet,whichis nearJerusalem,a Sabbathday's journeyaway.
Rejoicewith those who rejoice,and weepwith those who weep.
And ifonemembersuffers,allthe memberssufferwith it; if[one] memberis honored,allthe membersrejoicewith it.
