Now Solomonruledover allthe kingdomsfrom the River[to] the landof the Philistinesand to the borderof Egypt;[they] broughttributeand servedSolomonallthe daysof his life.
On that daythe LORDmadea covenantwith Abram,saying,"To your descendantsI have giventhisland,From the riverof Egyptas faras the greatriver,the riverEuphrates:
He defeatedMoab,and measuredthem with the line,making them liedownon the ground;and he measuredtwolinesto putto deathand one fulllineto keepalive.And the Moabitesbecameservantsto David,bringingtribute.
Then Davidputgarrisonsamong the Arameansof Damascus,and the Arameansbecameservantsto David,bringingtribute.And the LORDhelpedDavidwhereverhe went.
"Your fathermadeour yokehard;nowtherefore lightenthe hardserviceof your fatherand his heavyyokewhichhe puton us, and we will serveyou."
"I have alsogivenyou whatyou have not asked,bothrichesand honor,sothat there will not be anyamong the kingslikeyou allyour days.
Solomon'sprovisionfor onedaywas thirtykorsof fineflourand sixtykorsof meal,
For he haddominionover everythingwestof the River,from Tiphsaheven to Gaza,over allthe kingswestof the River;and he hadpeaceon allsidesaroundabouthim.
Shalmaneserkingof Assyriacameup againsthim, and Hosheabecamehis servantand paidhim tribute.
So the LORDestablishedthe kingdomin his control,and allJudahbroughttributeto Jehoshaphat,and he hadgreatrichesand honor.
And manywere bringinggiftsto the LORDat Jerusalemand choicepresentsto Hezekiahkingof Judah,so that he was exaltedin the sightof allnationsthereafter.
that mightykingshave ruledoverJerusalem,governingall[the provinces] beyondthe River,and that tribute,customand tollwere paidto them.
Becauseof Your templeat JerusalemKingswill bringgiftsto You.
Makevowsto the LORDyour Godand fulfill[them]; Let allwho are aroundHim bringgiftsto Him whois to be feared.
"I will fixyour boundaryfrom the RedSeato the seaof the Philistines,and from the wildernessto the River[Euphrates]; for I will deliverthe inhabitantsof the landinto your hand,and you will drivethem out beforeyou.
For whocan eatand whocan haveenjoymentwithoutHim?
Howlonelysitsthe cityThat was fullof people!She has becomelike a widowWhowas [once] greatamong the nations!She who was a princessamong the provincesHas becomea forcedlaborer!
"Thus you were adornedwith goldand silver,and your dresswas of finelinen,silkand embroideredcloth.You atefineflour,honeyand oil;so you were exceedinglybeautifuland advancedto royalty.
"Everyplaceon whichthe soleof your foottreadsshall be yours; your borderwill be from the wildernessto Lebanon,[and] from the river,the riverEuphrates,as faras the westernsea.
"From the wildernessand thisLebanon,even as faras the greatriver,the riverEuphrates,allthe landof the Hittites,and as faras the GreatSeatoward the settingof the sunwill be your territory.
But certain worthlessmensaid,"Howcan thisonedeliverus?" And they despisedhim and did not bringhim any present.But he keptsilent.
