But she saidto her, "Is it a smallmatterfor you to takemy husband?And would you takemy son'smandrakesalso?"So Rachelsaid,"Thereforehe may liewith you tonightin returnfor your son'smandrakes."

"Nowthen send[and] gatherto me allIsraelat MountCarmel,[together] with 450prophetsof Baaland 400prophetsof the Asherah,who eatat Jezebel'stable."
for when Jezebeldestroyedthe prophetsof the LORD,Obadiahtooka hundredprophetsand hidthem by fiftiesin a cave,and providedthem with breadand water.)
Then Jehugatheredallthe peopleand saidto them, "AhabservedBaala little;Jehuwill servehim much.
They forsookallthe commandmentsof the LORDtheir Godand madefor themselves moltenimages,[even] twocalves,and madean Asherahand worshipedallthe hostof heavenand servedBaal.
For he rebuiltthe highplaceswhichHezekiahhis fatherhad destroyed;and he erectedaltarsfor Baaland madean Asherah,as Ahabkingof Israelhad done,and worshipedallthe hostof heavenand servedthem.
He didevilin the sightof the LORD,thoughnot like his fatherand his mother;for he putawaythe [sacred] pillarof Baalwhichhis fatherhad made.
but soughtthe Godof his father,followedHis commandments,and did not actas Israeldid.
but have walkedin the wayof the kingsof Israel,and have caused Judahand the inhabitantsof Jerusalemto playthe harlotas the houseof Ahabplayedthe harlot,and you have alsokilledyour brothers,your own family,who were betterthanyou,
Then he said,"Listennow,O houseof David!Is it tooslighta thingfor you to trythe patienceof men,that you will trythe patienceof my Godas well?
"Moreover, you tookyour sonsand daughterswhomyou had borneto Me and sacrificedthem to idols to be devoured.Were your harlotriessosmalla matter?
"Yet you have not merely walkedin their waysor doneaccording to their abominations;but, as if that were toolittle,you actedmorecorruptlyin allyour conductthanthey.
Is it tooslighta thingfor you that you should feedin the goodpasture,that you must treaddownwith your feetthe restof your pastures?Or that you should drinkof the clearwaters,that you must foulthe restwith your feet?
He saidto me, "Do you see[this], sonof man?Is it too lighta thingfor the houseof Judahto committhe abominationswhichthey have committedhere,that they have filledthe landwith violenceand provokedMe repeatedly?For behold,they are puttingthe twigto their nose.
"Then I will giveher her vineyardsfrom there,And the valleyof Achoras a doorof hope.And she will singthereas in the daysof her youth,As in the daywhen she cameup from the landof Egypt.
is it not enoughfor you that the Godof Israelhas separatedyou from the [rest of] the congregationof Israel,to bringyou nearto Himself, to dothe serviceof the tabernacleof the LORD,and to standbeforethe congregationto ministerto them;
"Whenthe LORDyour Godbringsyou into the landwhereyou are enteringto possessit, and clearsawaymanynationsbeforeyou, the Hittitesand the Girgashitesand the Amoritesand the Canaanitesand the Perizzitesand the Hivitesand the Jebusites,sevennationsgreaterand strongerthanyou,
But I have[this] againstyou, that you toleratethe womanJezebel,who callsherselfa prophetess,and she teachesand leadsMy bond-servantsastrayso that they commit [acts of] immoralityand eatthings sacrificed to idols.
Asherdid not driveout the inhabitantsof Acco,or the inhabitantsof Sidon,or of Ahlab,or of Achzib,or of Helbah,or of Aphik,or of Rehob.
"Also when the Sidonians,the Amalekitesand the Maonitesoppressedyou, you criedout to Me, and I deliveredyou from their hands.
Then the sonsof Israelagaindidevilin the sightof the LORD,servedthe Baalsand the Ashtaroth,the godsof Aram,the godsof Sidon,the godsof Moab,the godsof the sonsof Ammon,and the godsof the Philistines;thus they forsookthe LORDand did not serveHim.
Then the fivemendepartedand cameto Laishand sawthe peoplewhowere in it livingin security,after the mannerof the Sidonians,quietand secure;for therewas norulerhumiliating[them] for anythingin the land,and they were farfrom the Sidoniansand hadnodealingswith anyone.
Then the sonsof Israeldidevilin the sightof the LORDand servedthe Baals,
The sonsof Israeldidwhatwas evilin the sightof the LORD,and forgotthe LORDtheir Godand servedthe Baalsand the Asheroth.
