Comfort comes like a calming hug, a gentle breeze on your soul, and in the loving words of those around you. And, you know, in those really tough times, you can feel Jesus right there with you. There are people in your life who can offer comfort, holding you up when you feel like you're falling apart, reminding you of how precious you are. God's presence shines through them, like an extension of the Holy Spirit's comfort when you need it most.
It's so important to remember you're not alone in your struggles, even when the tears just won't stop. In those moments, God is reminding you that He loves you. His comfort is like the best medicine, strengthening you from the inside out, filling those deep-down empty spaces. Letting yourself be comforted is like accepting a little bit of heaven, so don't be afraid to open yourself up and let your vulnerability show.
Showing your brokenness isn't weakness. Those who mourn are blessed, finding comfort in the Almighty. So right now, let that comfort sink into your heart, lift your spirits. Even if things seem gray right now, the sun will shine again, and you'll see that even in the hard times, Jesus is right there with you. Even when you don't understand, remember that all things work together for good, according to His purpose for your life. Just like 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 says, God, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, is with us in our troubles, so that we can comfort others with the same comfort we've received. And just as everything is working for your good, you are being comforted so that you can offer comfort and show God's love to a world that really needs it.
Jehovah is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart,\par\tab And saveth such as are of a contrite spirit.
fear thou not, for I am with thee; be not dismayed, for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may be with you for ever,
{\i even} the Spirit of truth: whom the world cannot receive; for it beholdeth him not, neither knoweth him: ye know him; for he abideth with you, and shall be in you.
Blessed {\i be} the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort;
who comforteth us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort them that are in any affliction, through the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, {\i even} to them that are called according to {\i his} purpose.
The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is upon me; because Jehovah hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening {\i of the prison} to them that are bound;
to proclaim the year of Jehovah's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified.\par
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,\par\tab I will fear no evil; for thou art with me;\par\tab Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Now the God of patience and of comfort grant you to be of the same mind one with another according to Christ Jesus:
{\cf6 Let not your heart be troubled: believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I come again, and will receive you unto myself; that where I am, {\i there} ye may be also.
Blessed {\i be} the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort;
Be ye free from the love of money; content with such things as ye have: for himself hath said, {\b I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee.}
Nevertheless he that comforteth the lowly, {\i even} God, comforted us by the coming of Titus;
strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, unto all patience and longsuffering with joy;
He giveth power to the faint; and to him that hath no might he increaseth strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
but they that wait for Jehovah shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.\par
{\b For the Chief Musician; after the manner of Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.}\par\par\tab My soul waiteth in silence for God only:\par\tab From him {\i cometh} my salvation.
He only is my rock and my salvation:\par\tab {\i He is} my high tower;\par\tab I shall not be greatly moved.
Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace,
comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.\par
to proclaim the year of Jehovah's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.\par
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit.\par
My flesh and my heart faileth;\par\tab {\i But} God is the strength of my heart and my portion for ever.
Why art thou cast down, O my soul?\par\tab And why art thou disquieted within me?\par\tab Hope thou in God; for I shall yet praise him,\par\tab {\i Who is} the help of my countenance, and my God.\par
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, {\i even} the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall bear witness of me:
For Jehovah hath comforted Zion; he hath comforted all her waste places, and hath made her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of Jehovah; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.\par
Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and {\b ye shall find rest unto your souls.}
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.}\par
Let, I pray thee, thy lovingkindness be for my comfort,\par\tab According to thy word unto thy servant.
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that through patience and through comfort of the scriptures we might have hope.
As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
But we would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning them that fall asleep; that ye sorrow not, even as the rest, who have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also that are fallen asleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem; and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she hath received of Jehovah's hand double for all her sins.\par
who comforteth us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort them that are in any affliction, through the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
{\b A Song of Ascents.}\par\par\tab I will lift up mine eyes unto the mountains:\par\tab From whence shall my help come?
My help {\i cometh} from Jehovah,\par\tab Who made heaven and earth.
But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men edification, and exhortation, and consolation.
Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace,
Thou numberest my wanderings:\par\tab Put thou my tears into thy bottle;\par\tab Are they not in thy book?
Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth.
And in that day thou shalt say, I will give thanks unto thee, O Jehovah; for though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away and thou comfortest me.
Thou wilt keep {\i him} in perfect peace, {\i whose} mind {\i is} stayed {\i on thee}; because he trusteth in thee.
Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness:\par\tab And I looked for some to take pity, but there was none;\par\tab And for comforters, but I found none.
{\b For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.}\par\par\tab I waited patiently for Jehovah;\par\tab And he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay;\par\tab And he set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God:\par\tab Many shall see it, and fear,\par\tab And shall trust in Jehovah.
Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me;\par\tab {\i Yet} thy commandments are my delight.
Behold, I tell you a mystery: We all shall not sleep, but we shall all be changed,
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
let us hold fast the confession of our hope that it waver not; for he is faithful that promised:
I wait for Jehovah, my soul doth wait,\par\tab And in his word do I hope.
My soul {\i waiteth} for the Lord\par\tab More than watchmen {\i wait} for the morning;\par\tab {\i Yea, more than} watchmen for the morning.
For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us-ward.
Jehovah also will be a high tower for the oppressed,\par\tab A high tower in times of trouble;
And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee;\par\tab For thou, Jehovah, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.
For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.
{\b For the Chief Musician. {\i A Psalm} of the sons of Korah; set to Alamoth. A Song.}\par\par\tab God is our refuge and strength,\par\tab A very present help in trouble.
Therefore will we not fear, though the earth do change,\par\tab And though the mountains be shaken into the heart of the seas
teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.}\par
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned, neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
Wait for Jehovah:\par\tab Be strong, and let thy heart take courage;\par\tab Yea, wait thou for Jehovah.\par
Trust in Jehovah with all thy heart,\par\tab And lean not upon thine own understanding:
In all thy ways acknowledge him,\par\tab And he will direct thy paths.
Great peace have they that love thy law;\par\tab And they have no occasion of stumbling.
These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye may have peace. In the world ye have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.}\par
Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God; and {\i such} we are. For this cause the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
Jehovah is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;\par\tab My God, my rock, in whom I will take refuge;\par\tab My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me;\par\tab Thou wilt stretch forth thy hand against the wrath of mine enemies,\par\tab And thy right hand will save me.
Blessed be the Lord, who daily beareth our burden,\par\tab Even the God who is our salvation. {\i Selah
I anticipated the dawning of the morning, and cried:\par\tab I hoped in thy words.
Mine eyes anticipated the night-watches,\par\tab That I might meditate on thy word.
For we know that if the earthly house of our tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens.
Jehovah will keep thee from all evil;\par\tab He will keep thy soul.
Jehovah will keep thy going out and thy coming in\par\tab From this time forth and for evermore.
Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing;\par\tab Thou hast loosed my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;
To the end that {\i my} glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent.\par\tab O Jehovah my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.\par
For we have not a high priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but one that hath been in all points tempted like as {\i we are, yet} without sin.
Let us therefore draw near with boldness unto the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace to help {\i us} in time of need.\par
When I said, My foot slippeth;\par\tab Thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, held me up.
In the multitude of my thoughts within me\par\tab Thy comforts delight my soul.
Blessed {\i be} the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy begat us again unto a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
unto an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Cast thy burden upon Jehovah, and he will sustain thee:\par\tab He will never suffer the righteous to be moved.
As for God, his way is perfect: The word of Jehovah is tried; He is a shield unto all them that take refuge in him.
The name of Jehovah is a strong tower;\par\tab The righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
Teach me to do thy will;\par\tab For thou art my God:\par\tab Thy Spirit is good;\par\tab Lead me in the land of uprightness.
Jehovah taketh pleasure in them that fear him,\par\tab In those that hope in his lovingkindness.
Wherefore we faint not; but though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day.
For our light affliction, which is for the moment, worketh for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory;
while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.\par
The proud have had me greatly in derision:\par\tab {\i Yet} have I not swerved from thy law.
to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified.\par
There hath no temptation taken you but such as man can bear: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to endure it.\par
And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee, whithersoever thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.
nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.\par
And my God shall supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Bless Jehovah, O my soul,\par\tab And forget not all his benefits:
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities;\par\tab Who healeth all thy diseases;
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction;\par\tab Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord:\par\tab My hand was stretched out in the night, and slacked not;\par\tab My soul refused to be comforted.
The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is upon me; because Jehovah hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening {\i of the prison} to them that are bound;
Unless thy law had been my delight,\par\tab I should then have perished in mine affliction.
But ye are an elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for {\i God's} own possession, that ye may show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
God is unto us a God of deliverances;\par\tab And unto Jehovah the Lord belongeth escape from death.
{\b For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.}\par\par\tab O Jehovah, thou hast searched me, and known {\i me}.
Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising;\par\tab Thou understandest my thought afar off.
The wicked is thrust down in his evil-doing;\par\tab But the righteous hath a refuge in his death.
What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit?\par\tab Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?
Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble,\par\tab And he saved them out of their distresses.
He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death,\par\tab And brake their bonds in sunder.
I love Jehovah, because he heareth\par\tab My voice and my supplications.
Because he hath inclined his ear unto me,\par\tab Therefore will I call {\i upon him} as long as I live.
Fear not; for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;
Rejoice always;
pray without ceasing;
in everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus to you-ward.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.
For his anger is but for a moment;\par\tab His favor is for a life-time:\par\tab Weeping may tarry for the night,\par\tab But joy {\i cometh} in the morning.
Jehovah is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart,\par\tab And saveth such as are of a contrite spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous;\par\tab But Jehovah delivereth him out of them all.
Thou, who hast showed us many and sore troubles,\par\tab Wilt quicken us again,\par\tab And wilt bring us up again from the depths of the earth.
Increase thou my greatness,\par\tab And turn again and comfort me.
I will also praise thee with the psaltery,\par\tab {\i Even} thy truth, O my God:\par\tab Unto thee will I sing praises with the harp,\par\tab O thou Holy One of Israel.
I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou art afraid of man that shall die, and of the son of man that shall be made as grass;
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope in your latter end.
And ye shall call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
For as the sufferings of Christ abound unto us, even so our comfort also aboundeth through Christ.
And I heard a great voice out of the throne saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he shall dwell with them, and they shall be his peoples, and God himself shall be with them:
and he shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more; neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more: for the first things are passed away.
