VERSES ABOUT PRAYER

You know, our Heavenly Father wants us to be in constant communication with Him through prayer. It's how we connect with God. Think of prayer as your direct line to Him. It's where you bring every request, every worry, every heartache. It's where you go when things aren't going so well, when you're feeling down, when you're carrying a heavy load.

God already knows everything about us, even before we were born. But He wants us to talk to Him, to seek Him out. Prayer is how you build your friendship, your intimacy, your relationship with God. It's one of the most powerful tools you have as a believer in Jesus. It's your defense in every battle, the key to victory in every struggle.

Remember, the power of prayer doesn't come from you. It comes from Jesus. He's the one who answers prayer and makes the impossible possible. When you pray from the heart, you open yourself up to receive His comfort, His peace, and His love.

Come to God with a humble and contrite heart, and He will never turn you away. Just as Ephesians 6:18¹ says, "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints".

And don't forget what 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18² tells us: "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." So, give thanks, even in the tough times. And sometimes, just be still in His presence.

Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he will hear thee;\par\tab And thou shalt pay thy vows.

But watch ye at every season, making supplication, that ye may prevail to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.}\par

{\b A Psalm of David.}\par\par\tab Hear my prayer, O Jehovah; give ear to my supplications:\par\tab In thy faithfulness answer me, {\i and} in thy righteousness.

For this child I prayed; and Jehovah hath given me my petition which I asked of him:

Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth laborers into his harvest.}\par

Then Jonah prayed unto Jehovah his God out of the fish's belly.

And shall not God avenge his elect, that cry to him day and night, and {\i yet} he is longsuffering over them?

Show me thy ways, O Jehovah;\par\tab Teach me thy paths.

And the Lord {\i said} unto him, {\cf6 Arise, and go to the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for one named Saul, a man of Tarsus: for behold, he prayeth;

cease not to give thanks for you, making mention {\i of you} in my prayers;

Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, saluteth you, always striving for you in his prayers, that ye may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God.

Trust in Jehovah with all thy heart,\par\tab And lean not upon thine own understanding:In all thy ways acknowledge him,\par\tab And he will direct thy paths.

Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and covet, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war; ye have not, because ye ask not.

And he, fastening his eyes upon him, and being affrighted, said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are gone up for a memorial before God.

{\i Yet} Jehovah will command his lovingkindness in the day-time;\par\tab And in the night his song shall be with me,\par\tab {\i Even} a prayer unto the God of my life.

Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.}

But we will continue stedfastly in prayer, and in the ministry of the word.

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns unto God, and the prisoners were listening to them;

Jehovah hath heard my supplication;\par\tab Jehovah will receive my prayer.

And he was parted from them about a stone's cast; and he kneeled down and prayed,

And it shall come to pass that, before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

And he said unto them, {\cf6 The harvest indeed is plenteous, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth laborers into his harvest.

To which end we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfil every desire of goodness and {\i every} work of faith, with power;

But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore of sound mind, and be sober unto prayer:

Let us therefore draw near with boldness unto the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace to help {\i us} in time of need.\par

And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.}\par

In my distress I called upon Jehovah,\par\tab And cried unto my God:\par\tab He heard my voice out of his temple,\par\tab And my cry before him came into his ears.

Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be made full.\par

Jehovah is far from the wicked;\par\tab But he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye doubleminded.

I exhort therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings, be made for all men;

He hath regarded the prayer of the destitute,\par\tab And hath not despised their prayer.

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so on earth.Give us this day our daily bread.And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.And bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil {\i one}.

Continue stedfastly in prayer, watching therein with thanksgiving;

And he spake a parable unto them to the end that they ought always to pray, and not to faint;

with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,

In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thine inner chamber, and having shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret, and thy Father who seeth in secret shall recompense thee.

And ye shall call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Jehovah is nigh unto all them that call upon him,\par\tab To all that call upon him in truth.

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.If ye shall ask anything in my name, that will I do.

And this is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us:

Confess therefore your sins one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The supplication of a righteous man availeth much in its working.

rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing stedfastly in prayer;

Therefore I say unto you, All things whatsoever ye pray and ask for, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

But if any of you lacketh wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all liberally and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

O Jehovah, in the morning shalt thou hear my voice;\par\tab In the morning will I order {\i my prayer} unto thee, and will keep watch.

And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting and sackcloth and ashes.

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and will show thee great things, and difficult, which thou knowest not.

And when he was at the place, he said unto them, {\cf6 Pray that ye enter not into temptation.}

And they were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them; for they cried to God in the battle, and he was entreated of them, because they put their trust in him.

O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who delight to fear thy name; and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.\par\par\tab Now I was cupbearer to the king.

I love Jehovah, because he heareth\par\tab My voice and my supplications.Because he hath inclined his ear unto me,\par\tab Therefore will I call {\i upon him} as long as I live.

And when they had prayed, the place was shaken wherein they were gathered together; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spake the word of God with boldness.\par

Evening, and morning, and at noonday, will I complain, and moan;\par\tab And he will hear my voice.

For this cause we also, since the day we heard {\i it}, do not cease to pray and make request for you, that ye may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,

And in the morning, a great while before day, he rose up and went out, and departed into a desert place, and there prayed.

in whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him.

The eyes of Jehovah are toward the righteous,\par\tab And his ears are {\i open} unto their cry.

and whatsoever we ask we receive of him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.

Seek ye Jehovah and his strength; Seek his face evermore.

And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Moreover as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against Jehovah in ceasing to pray for you: but I will instruct you in the good and the right way.

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.}\par

These all with one accord continued stedfastly in prayer, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.\par

And in like manner the Spirit also helpeth our infirmity: for we know not how to pray as we ought; but the Spirit himself maketh intercession for {\i us} with groanings which cannot be uttered;

But verily God hath heard;\par\tab He hath attended to the voice of my prayer.Blessed be God,\par\tab Who hath not turned away my prayer,\par\tab Nor his lovingkindness from me.\par

Is any among you suffering? let him pray. Is any cheerful? let him sing praise.

And in praying use not vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

For ye received not the spirit of bondage again unto fear; but ye received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Prayer
