A child has been born for us, a son has been given to us, and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6¹ speaks so clearly about the Messianic Kingdom. This hope grew especially during the Babylonian exile. After that, Israel and Judah lived under the rule of different empires, always dreaming of the day their independent kingdom would be restored. This restoration would be led by someone from the house of David, born in Bethlehem. Jesus fulfilled all these prophecies.

Yet, scripture tells us that Israel didn't recognize the time of their visitation. We now understand this was all part of God's plan to extend grace to the Gentiles. Once that work is complete, that grace will return to Israel.

Romans 11:25-26² says, "I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in, and in this way all Israel will be saved." Think about that. It's mind-blowing.

After Jesus came and the church was born, Israel was scattered among the nations until 1948. Then, they were brought back together and became a nation again. Today, Israel is led by a prime minister, but one day, the Messiah will return and establish his kingdom. Every eye will see him when he comes back, and he will reign for a thousand years, restoring the throne of David.

and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: he shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

and I will bless them that bless thee, and him that curseth thee will I curse: and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, Nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, Until Shiloh come: And unto him shall the obedience of the peoples be.

but these are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye may have life in his name.\par

The voice of one that crieth, Prepare ye in the wilderness the way of Jehovah; make level in the desert a highway for our God.

For Jehovah is our judge, Jehovah is our lawgiver, Jehovah is our king; he will save us.

And we have the word of prophecy {\i made} more sure; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day-star arise in your hearts:

whither as a forerunner Jesus entered for us, having become a high priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.\par

Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in justice.And a man shall be as a hiding-place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest, as streams of water in a dry place, as the shade of a great rock in a weary land.
