So the clouds pour out the water,\par and the rain falls on many people.\par


God sends rain on the earth.\par He sends water to the fields.\par


God saves our life from the grave.\par And he gives us love and compassion.\par


God sends rain down onto the mountains.\par The things God made give the earth\par everything it needs.\par


God, you built your home above them. {\cf2\super [541]} \par You use the thick clouds like a chariot,\par and ride across the sky\par on the wings of the wind.\par


The Lord is kind and true to people\par who follow his Agreement and promises. {\cf2\super [152]} \par


Lord, they get new strength\par from the good things in your house.\par You let them drink\par from your wonderful river.\par


Lord, when you do\par good things to good people,\par you are like a large shield\par protecting them.\par


Your animals came back to that land.\par God, you gave many good things\par to the poor people there.\par


Foolish people are punished for their foolishness. But wise people are rewarded with knowledge.


Who knows, maybe the Lord\par will change his mind.\par And maybe he will leave behind\par a blessing for you.\par Then you can give grain and drink offerings\par to the Lord your God.\par


Is there any grain still in the barn? \{No!\} Look at the vines, the fig trees, the pomegranates, {\cf2\super [11]} and the olive trees. Are they producing fruit? \{No!\} But, starting today, I will bless you!”


The Lord All-Powerful says, “Try this test. Bring one-tenth of your things to me. Put those things in the treasury. Bring food to my house. Test me! If you do those things, then I will truly bless you. Good things will come to you like rain falling from the sky. You will have more than enough of everything.


\{It is like\} some of the branches from an olive tree have been broken off, and the branch of a wild olive tree has been joined to that first tree. You non-Jews are the same as that wild branch, and you now share the strength and life of the first tree (the Jews).


The Lord your God cares for that land! The Lord your God watches over that land, from the beginning to the end of the year.
