Job 36 - Easy To Read Version1 Elihu continued talking. He said: 2 “Be patient with me a little longer.\par God has a few more words\par \{that he wants me to say\}.\par 3 I will share my knowledge with everyone.\par God made me and I will prove\par that God is fair.\par 4 Job, I am telling the truth.\par I know what I am talking about.\par 5 “God is very powerful,\par but he doesn’t hate people.\par God is very powerful,\par but he is also very wise.\par 6 God won’t let evil people live.\par God always treats poor people fairly.\par 7 God watches over people who live right.\par He lets good people be rulers.\par God gives good people honor forever.\par 8 So if people are punished,\par if they are tied with chains and ropes\par then they did something wrong.\par 9 And God will tell them what they did.\par God will tell him that they sinned.\par God will tell him that they were proud.\par 10 God will force those people\par to listen to his warning.\par He will command them to stop sinning.\par 11 If those people listen to God, and obey him,\par then God will make them successful\par and they will live a happy life.\par 12 But if those people refuse to obey God,\par then they will be destroyed.\par They will die like fools.\par 13 “People that don’t care about God\par are always bitter.\par Even when God punishes them,\par they refuse to pray to God for help.\par 14 Those people will die\par when they are still young,\par like the male prostitutes. {\cf2\super [75]} \par 15 But God will humble people\par from their troubles.\par God uses those troubles\par to make people wake up\par and listen to him.\par 16 “Job, God wants to help you.\par God wants to get you out of trouble.\par God wants to make life easy for you.\par God wants to put plenty of food\par on your table.\par 17 But now, Job, you were judged guilty.\par So you were punished like an evil man.\par 18 Job, don’t let riches fool you.\par Don’t let money change your mind.\par 19 Your money can’t help you now.\par And powerful people can’t help you either!\par 20 Don’t wish for the night to come.\par People try to disappear into the night.\par \{They think they can hide from God.\} {\cf2\super [76]} \par 21 Job, you have suffered a lot.\par But don’t choose evil.\par Be careful not to do wrong.\par 22 “Look, God’s power makes him great!\par God is the greatest teacher of all.\par 23 No person can tell God what to do.\par No person can say to God,\par ‘God, you have done wrong.’\par 24 “Remember to praise God\par for the things he did.\par People have written many songs\par praising God.\par 25 Every person can see what God did.\par People in faraway countries\par can see those things.\par 26 Yes, God is great.\par But we can’t understand his greatness.\par We don’t know how long God has lived.\par 27 “God takes up water from the earth\par and changes it into mist and rain.\par 28 So the clouds pour out the water,\par and the rain falls on many people.\par 29 No person can understand\par how God spreads the clouds out\par or how the thunder rumbles in the sky.\par 30 Look, God spread the lightning\par over the earth and covered\par the deepest part of the ocean.\par 31 God uses them to control the nations\par and to give them plenty of food.\par 32 God grabs the lightning with his hands,\par and commands it to hit where he wants.\par 33 The thunder warns that a storm is coming.\par |
