Manasseh prayed to God and begged God to help him. The Lord heard Manasseh’s begging and felt sorry for him. The Lord let him return to Jerusalem and to his throne. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord was the true God.


Evil people send their children out\par to play like lambs.\par Their children dance around.\par


Evil people enjoy success\par during their lives.\par Then they die\par and go to their grave without suffering.\par


“Now, Job, give yourself to God\par and make peace with him.\par Do this, and you will get many good things.\par


Job, come back to God All-Powerful,\par and you will be restored.\par But, you must remove the evil\par from your house.\par


The Lord blessed Job with even more things than he had in the beginning. Job got 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 2,000 cows, and 1,000 female donkeys.


Those people don’t do bad things.\par They obey the Lord.\par


The Lord is happy with his people.\par God did a wonderful thing for his humble people.\par He saved them!\par


You will teach me the right way to live.\par Just being with you, Lord, will bring\par complete happiness.\par Being at your right side will bring\par happiness forever.\par


But the person who obeys me will live safely. That person will be comfortable. He will not have to be afraid of evil.”


“If you listen to the things I say, then you will have the good things from this land.


You people change your lives! You must start doing good things! You must obey the Lord your God. If you do that, then the Lord will change his mind. The Lord will not do the bad things he told you about.


I only gave them this command: ‘Obey me and I will be your God, and you will be my people. Do all that I command, and good things will happen to you.


In the past you were slaves to sin—sin controlled you. But thank God, you fully obeyed the things that were taught to you.


When you are in trouble—when all those things happen to you—then you will come back to the Lord your God and obey him.


Training (teaching) your body helps you in some ways. But serving God helps you in every way. Serving God brings you blessings in this life and in the future life too.


God called Abraham to travel to another place that God promised to give Abraham. Abraham did not know where that other place was. But Abraham obeyed God and started traveling, because Abraham had faith.


Your life on earth was full of rich living. You pleased yourselves with everything you wanted. You made yourselves fat, \{like an animal ready\} for the day of slaughter. {\cf2\super [25]}


She (Babylon) gave herself much glory\par and rich living.\par Give her that much suffering and sadness.\par She says to herself, ‘I am a queen\par sitting \{on my throne\}.\par I am not a widow {\cf2\super [131]} ;\par I will never be sad.’\par
