Isaac planted fields in that place. And that year he gathered a great harvest. The Lord blessed him very much.


Can you trust him\par to gather your grain and bring it\par to your threshing {\cf2\super [88]} place?\par


It is like a gentle rain {\cf2\super [623]} \par from Mount Hermon\par falling on Mount Zion. {\cf2\super [624]} \par


Lord All-Powerful,\par people who trust you are truly happy!\par


The people of Israel will come\par to the top of Zion, {\cf2\super [252]} \par and they will shout with joy.\par Their faces will shine with happiness\par about the good things the Lord gives them.\par The Lord will give them grain, new wine,\par olive oil, young sheep, and cows.\par They will be like a garden\par that has plenty of water.\par And the people of Israel will not\par be troubled anymore.\par


I will give the priests plenty of food.\par And my people will be filled and satisfied\par with the good things I give them.”\par This message is from the Lord.\par


The vines have become dry.\par And the fig tree is dying.\par All the trees in the field—the pomegranate,\par the palm, and the apple—have withered.\par And happiness among the people is dead.\par


Who knows, maybe the Lord\par will change his mind.\par And maybe he will leave behind\par a blessing for you.\par Then you can give grain and drink offerings\par to the Lord your God.\par


\{The Lord says,\} “I gave the command for the land and the mountains to be dry. The grain, the new wine, the olive oil, and everything the earth produces will all be ruined! {\cf2\super [4]} All the people and all the animals will become weak.”


The Lord All-Powerful says, “Try this test. Bring one-tenth of your things to me. Put those things in the treasury. Bring food to my house. Test me! If you do those things, then I will truly bless you. Good things will come to you like rain falling from the sky. You will have more than enough of everything.


The thing you should want most is God’s kingdom and doing the good things God wants you to do. Then all these other things you need will be given to you.


“Give the poor person all that you can. Don’t feel bad about giving to him. Why? Because the Lord your God will bless you for doing this good thing. He will bless you in all your work and in everything you do.


The Lord will punish you with diseases, fever, and swelling. The Lord will send you terrible heat and you will have no rain. Your crops will die from the heat and disease. [182] All these bad things will happen until you are destroyed!
