Psalm 104 - Easy To Read Version1 My soul, praise the Lord!\par Lord my God, you are very great!\par You are clothed with glory and honor.\par 2 You wear light like a person wears a robe.\par You spread the skies like a curtain.\par 3 God, you built your home above them. {\cf2\super [541]} \par You use the thick clouds like a chariot,\par and ride across the sky\par on the wings of the wind.\par 4 God, you made your angels like the wind, {\cf2\super [542]} \par and your servants {\cf2\super [543]} like fire.\par 5 God, you built the earth on its foundations,\par so it will never be destroyed.\par 6 You covered it with water like a blanket.\par The water covered the mountains.\par 7 But you gave the command,\par and the water rushed away.\par God, you shouted at the water,\par and the water rushed away.\par 8 The water flowed down from the mountains,\par into the valleys, and then to the places\par you made for it.\par 9 You set the limits for the seas.\par And the water will never again\par rise to cover the earth.\par 10 God, you cause water to flow\par from the springs into the streams.\par It flows down through the mountain streams.\par 11 The streams water all the wild animals.\par Even the wild donkeys come there to drink.\par 12 Wild birds come to live by the pools,\par They sing in the branches of nearby trees.\par 13 God sends rain down onto the mountains.\par The things God made give the earth\par everything it needs.\par 14 God makes the grass grow to feed the animals.\par He gives us the plants\par that we work to grow.\par Those plants give us food from the earth.\par 15 God gives us\par the wine that makes us happy,\par the oil that makes our skin soft, {\cf2\super [544]} \par and the food that makes us strong.\par 16 The great cedar trees of Lebanon\par belong to the Lord.\par The Lord planted those trees,\par and he gives them the water they need.\par 17 Birds make their nests in those trees.\par Large storks live in the fir trees.\par 18 The high mountains are a home\par for wild goats.\par The large rocks are hiding places\par for rock-badgers.\par 19 God, you gave us the moon\par to show us when the holidays begin.\par And the sun always knows when to set.\par 20 You made darkness to be the night—\par the time when wild animals come out\par and roam around.\par 21 Lions roar as they attack,\par as if they are asking God\par for the food he gives them.\par 22 Then the sun rises, and the animals\par go back to their homes and rest.\par 23 Then people go out to do their work.\par And they work until evening.\par 24 Lord, you have done many wonderful things.\par The earth is full of the things you made.\par \{We see\} your wisdom in everything\par you do.\par 25 Look at the ocean. It is so big!\par And so many things live there!\par There are creatures large and small—\par too many to count!\par 26 Ships travel over the ocean while\par Leviathan, {\cf2\super [545]} the sea creature you made,\par plays there in the sea.\par 27 God, all of these things depend on you.\par You give them food at the right time.\par 28 God, you give all the living things\par the food they eat.\par You open your hands, filled with good food,\par and they eat until they are full.\par 29 And when you turn away from them,\par they become frightened.\par Their spirits leave them;\par they grow weak and die;\par and their bodies become dust again.\par 30 But when you send out your Spirit, Lord,\par they become healthy!\par And you make the land like new again!\par 31 May the Lord’s glory continue forever!\par May the Lord enjoy the things he made.\par 32 The Lord can just look at the earth,\par and it will shake.\par He can touch the mountains\par and smoke will begin to rise from them.\par 33 All my life I will sing to the Lord.\par I will sing praises to the Lord\par as long as I live.\par 34 I hope these words I said\par will make him happy.\par I am happy with the Lord.\par 35 May sin disappear from the earth.\par May wicked people be gone forever.\par |
