“But, God, will you really live here with us on the earth? All the sky and the highest place in heaven cannot contain you. Certainly this house which I have built cannot contain you either.
“Job, do you think that\par you really understand God?\par You can’t understand God All-Powerful.\par
You can’t do anything about\par what is up in heaven!\par You don’t know anything\par about the place of death.\par
“God lives in the highest part of heaven.\par See how high the stars are.\par God looks down on the highest stars.\par
“Job, I (Elihu) want to answer you\par and your friends here with you.\par
Yes, God is great.\par But we can’t understand his greatness.\par We don’t know how long God has lived.\par
Do you know how the clouds\par hang in the sky?\par Clouds are just one example\par of the wonderful things God made.\par And God knows everything about them.\par
The Lord says,\par “Your thoughts are not like my thoughts.\par Your ways are not like my ways.\par
The heavens are higher than the earth.\par In the same way, my ways are higher than your ways.\par And my thoughts are higher than your thoughts.”\par The Lord himself said these things.\par
The Lord is patient.\par But he is also very powerful!\par And the Lord will punish guilty people.\par He will not let them go free.\par The Lord \{is coming to punish bad people\}.\par He will use whirlwinds and storms\par to show his power.\par \{A man walks\} on the dust \{on the ground\}.\par But the Lord walks on the clouds!\par
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Eliab is tall and handsome. But don’t think about things like that. God does not look at the things people see. People look only at the outside of a person, but the Lord looks at his heart. Eliab is not the right man.”
