Job 35 - Easy To Read Version

Elihu continued talking. He said:

“Job, it is not fair for you to say,\par ‘I am more right than God.’\par

And Job, you ask God,\par ‘What will a person gain\par if he tries to please God?\par What good will it do me\par if I don’t sin?’\par

“Job, I (Elihu) want to answer you\par and your friends here with you.\par

Job, look up at the sky.\par Look up at the clouds\par that are higher than you.\par

Job, if you sin,\par it does not hurt God.\par If you have many sins,\par that does nothing to God.\par

And Job, if you are good,\par that does not help God.\par God gets nothing from you.\par

Job, the good and bad things you do\par affect only other people like yourself.\par \{They do not help or hurt God.\}\par

“If \{bad\} people are being hurt,\par then they will cry out for help.\par They go to powerful people\par and beg them to help them.\par

But those bad people\par will not ask God for help.\par They will not say,\par ‘Where is the God who made me?\par God helps people\par when they are depressed.\par So where is he?\par

God makes us wiser\par than the birds and animals.\par \{So where is he?\}’\par

“Or, if those bad people ask God for help\par then God will not answer them.\par Why? Because those people are too proud.\par They still think they are too important.\par

It is true, God won’t listen\par to their worthless begging.\par God All-Powerful won’t\par pay attention to them.\par

So Job, God won’t listen to you\par when you say that you don’t see him.\par You say you are waiting for your chance\par to meet with God and prove\par that you are innocent.\par

“Job thinks that God\par does not punish bad people,\par He thinks that God\par does not pay attention to sin.\par

So Job continues his worthless talking.\par Job is acting like he is important.\par It is easy to see that Job does not\par know what he is talking about.”\par
