Did you make the horse able to\par jump far like a locust?\par The horse snorts {\cf2\super [90]} loudly,\par and it scares people.\par


The earth and everything on it\par belong to the Lord.\par The world and all its people\par belong to him.\par


If you are angry, then punish the other nations.\par They don’t know or respect you.\par Those people don’t worship you.\par Those nations destroyed Jacob’s family.\par They destroyed Israel completely.\par They destroyed Israel’s homeland.\par


That terrible false god Baal has eaten\par everything our fathers owned.\par This has happened since we were children.\par That terrible false god took\par our fathers’ sheep and cattle,\par and their sons and daughters.\par


Those nations destroyed you,\par but now they have been destroyed.\par Israel and Judah,\par your enemies will become captives. {\cf2\super [240]} \par Those people stole things from you.\par But other people will steal from them.\par Those people took things from you in war.\par But other people will take things\par from them in war.\par


I looked at the mountains,\par and they were shaking.\par All of the hills were trembling.\par

They will hear the sound of running horses,\par the noisy chariots, the rumbling wheels.\par Fathers won’t be able to protect their children.\par They will be too weak to help.\par


Those soldiers will eat all the crops\par that you gathered.\par They will eat all of your food.\par They will eat (destroy) your sons\par and daughters.\par They will eat your flocks and your herds.\par They will eat your grapes and your figs.\par They will destroy your strong cities\par with their swords.\par They will destroy the strong cities\par that you trust in!\par


Their armies have bows and spears.\par The soldiers are cruel.\par They have no mercy.\par The soldiers come riding on their horses,\par and the sound is loud like the roaring sea.\par They stand in their places, ready for battle.\par They are ready to attack you,\par city of Babylon.\par


The land shakes and moves like it is in pain.\par It will shake when the Lord does what he planned to Babylon.\par The Lord’s plan is to make the land of Babylon into an empty desert.\par No person will live there.\par


The soldiers carry bows and spears.\par They are cruel.\par They have no mercy.\par They are so powerful.\par They sound like the roaring ocean\par as they ride their horses.\par That army is coming ready for battle.\par That army is coming to attack you,\par Daughter of Zion.” {\cf2\super [46]} \par


You can hear the sounds\par of whips cracking,\par the noise of wheels,\par horses galloping,\par and chariots bouncing along!\par


The mountains saw you and shook.\par The water flowed off the land.\par The water from the sea made a loud noise\par as it lost its power over the land.\par

But if a person tells you, “That food was offered to idols, {\cf2\super [77]} ” then don’t eat it. Why? Because some people think it is wrong, and it might cause a problem for the person who told you that.


The people of Dan gave that city a new name. That city had been called Laish, but they changed the name to Dan. They named the city after their ancestor [139] Dan, one of the sons of Israel.


So all the people of Israel joined together. They all came together to stand before the Lord in the city of Mizpah. People came from everywhere in Israel. [166] Even the Israelite people from Gilead [167] were there.
