James 5:10
19 Tagairtí Cros

But God’s people made fun of God’s prophets. They refused to listen to God’s prophets. They hated God’s messages. Finally God could not hold his anger any longer. God became angry at his people and there was nothing that could be done to stop it.

Hezekiah told Isaiah, “This message from the Lord is good.” (Hezekiah said this because he thought, “There will be real peace and security while I am king.”)

“I punished you people of Judah,\par but it did not help.\par You did not come back when you were punished.\par You killed with your swords the prophets that came to you.\par You were like a dangerous lion and you killed the prophets.”\par

If they had stood in my heavenly council,\par then they would have told my messages\par to the people of Judah.\par They would have stopped the people\par from doing bad things.\par They would have stopped them\par from doing evil.”\par

Then the rulers and all the people spoke. Those people said to the priests and the prophets, “Jeremiah must not be killed. The things Jeremiah told us come from the Lord our God.”

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem! You kill the prophets. {\cf2\super [250]} You kill with rocks those men that God has sent you. Many, many times I wanted to help your people. I wanted to gather your people together like a hen gathers her chicks under her wings. But you did not let me.

At that time you can be happy and jump for joy, because you have a great reward in heaven. Their fathers {\cf2\super [118]} were mean to the prophets {\cf2\super [119]} in the same way that these people are mean to you.

But Jesus must stay in heaven until the time when all things will be made right again. God told about this time when he spoke long ago through his holy prophets.

Your ancestors persecuted {\cf2\super [148]} every prophet {\cf2\super [149]} that ever lived. Those prophets said long ago that the Righteous One (Christ {\cf2\super [150]})would come. But your ancestors killed those prophets. And now you have turned against the Righteous One and killed him.

Remember your leaders. They taught God’s message to you. Remember how they lived and died, and copy their faith.

Brothers and sisters, don’t say things against each other. If you criticize your brother \{in Christ\} or judge him, then you are criticizing the law \{he follows\}. When you judge a brother \{in Christ\}, you are really judging the law \{he follows\}. And when you are judging the law, you are not a follower of the law. You have become a judge!

Are you having troubles? You should pray. Are you happy? You should sing.

Brothers and sisters, be patient; the Lord \{Jesus\} will come. So be patient until that time. Farmers are patient. A farmer waits for his valuable crop to grow up from the earth. A farmer waits patiently for his crop to receive the first rain and the last rain. {\cf2\super [26]}

Brothers, and sisters, don’t complain against each other. If you don’t stop complaining, you will be judged guilty. And the Judge is ready to come!
