Tiglath Pileser king of Assyria came to fight against Israel. This was during the time that Pekah was king of Israel. Tiglath Pileser captured Ijon, Abel Bethmaacah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, Galilee, and all the area of Naphtali. Tiglath Pileser took the people from these places as prisoners to Assyria.

The Israelites will not stay in the Lord’s land. Ephraim will return to Egypt. In Assyria they will eat food that they should not eat.
The Lord says this: “I will definitely punish Israel for the many crimes they did. {\cf2\super [37]} Why? Because they sold good, \{innocent\} people for a little silver. They sold poor people for the price of a pair of shoes.
Go to the Lord, and live.\par If you don’t go to the Lord,\par then a fire will start at Joseph’s house. {\cf2\super [65]} \par That fire will destroy Joseph’s house,\par and no person will be able to stop\par that fire at Bethel.\par
