He has only human strength,  but we have the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles.’  So the people relied on the words of King Hezekiah of Judah.


After I made an inspection, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials, and the rest of the people,  ‘Don’t be afraid of them.  Remember the great and awe-inspiring Lord, and fight for your countrymen, your sons and daughters, your wives and homes.’


Wherever you hear the sound of the ram’s horn, rally to us there. Our God will fight for us! ’


Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Stretch out your hand towards heaven, and there will be darkness over the land of Egypt, a darkness that can be felt.’


The Lord will fight for you, and you must be quiet.’


He caused their chariot wheels to swerve  , and made them drive  with difficulty. ‘Let’s get away from Israel,’ the Egyptians said, ‘because the Lord is fighting for them against Egypt! ’

The Lord your God is the one who will cross ahead of you.  He will destroy these nations before you, and you will drive them out. Joshua is the one who will cross ahead of you, as the Lord has said.


He was unparalleled for all the signs and wonders the Lord sent him to do against the land of Egypt #– #to Pharaoh, to all his officials, and to all his land #– #


Or has a god attempted to go and take a nation as his own out of another nation, by trials, signs, wonders, and war, by a strong hand and an outstretched arm, by great terrors, as the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?


do not be afraid of them. Be sure to remember what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and all Egypt:


There has been no day like it before or since, when the Lord listened to a man, because the Lord fought for Israel.


Joshua captured all these kings and their land in one campaign, because the Lord, the God of Israel, fought for Israel.


and you have seen for yourselves everything the Lord your God did to all these nations on your account, because it was the Lord your God who was fighting for you.
