‘If the Arameans are too strong for me,’ Joab said, ‘then you’ll be my help. However, if the Ammonites are too strong for you, I’ll help you.


Then I said to the nobles, the officials, and the rest of the people,  ‘The work is enormous and spread out, and we are separated far from one another along the wall.


So we continued the work, while half of the men were holding spears from daybreak until the stars came out.


The Lord will fight for you, and you must be quiet.’


He caused their chariot wheels to swerve  , and made them drive  with difficulty. ‘Let’s get away from Israel,’ the Egyptians said, ‘because the Lord is fighting for them against Egypt! ’


Then the Lord will go out to fight against those nations as he fights on a day of battle.


The Lord your God who goes before you  will fight for you,  just as you saw him do for you in Egypt.


For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you  against your enemies to give you victory.”


Don’t be afraid of them, for the Lord your God fights for you.


One of you routed a thousand  because the Lord your God was fighting for you, as he promised.  ,
