Look, God and his priests are with us at our head. The trumpets are ready to sound the charge against you. Israelites, don’t fight against the Lord God of your ancestors, for you will not succeed.’


You do not have to fight this battle. Position yourselves, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord.  He is with you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged.  Tomorrow, go out to face them, for the Lord is with you.” ’


The terror of God  was on all the kingdoms of the lands when they heard that the Lord had fought against the enemies of Israel.


Wherever you hear the sound of the ram’s horn, rally to us there. Our God will fight for us! ’


The Lord will fight for you, and you must be quiet.’


He caused their chariot wheels to swerve  , and made them drive  with difficulty. ‘Let’s get away from Israel,’ the Egyptians said, ‘because the Lord is fighting for them against Egypt! ’


But the Lord said to Moses, ‘Do not fear him, for I have handed him over to you along with his whole army and his land. Do to him as you did to King Sihon of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon.’


The Lord your God who goes before you  will fight for you,  just as you saw him do for you in Egypt.


‘When you go out to war against your enemies and see horses, chariots, and an army larger than yours,  do not be afraid of them, for the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt,  is with you.


For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you  against your enemies to give you victory.”


‘I commanded Joshua at that time: Your own eyes have seen everything the Lord your God has done to these two kings. The Lord will do the same to all the kingdoms you are about to enter.


‘At that time I begged the Lord:


Joshua captured all these kings and their land in one campaign, because the Lord, the God of Israel, fought for Israel.


One of you routed a thousand  because the Lord your God was fighting for you, as he promised.  ,
