They encounter darkness by day, and they grope at noon as if it were night.


So the Lord said to Moses, ‘Tell Aaron: Take your staff and stretch out your hand  over the waters of Egypt #– #over their rivers, canals, ponds, and all their water reservoirs #– #and they will become blood. There will be blood throughout the land of Egypt, even in wooden and stone containers.’


Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Stretch out your hand towards heaven and let there be hail throughout the land of Egypt #– #on people and animals and every plant of the field in the land of Egypt.’


But the way of the wicked is like the darkest gloom; they don’t know what makes them stumble.


The wise person has eyes in his head, but the fool walks in darkness. Yet I also knew that one fate comes to them both.


For he comes in futility and he goes in darkness, and his name is shrouded in darkness.


‘ “When I snuff you out, I will cover the heavens and darken their stars. I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon will not give its light.


From noon until three in the afternoon,  darkness came over the whole land.  ,

The Lord your God who goes before you  will fight for you,  just as you saw him do for you in Egypt.


so that at noon you will grope as a blind person gropes in the dark.  You will not be successful in anything you do. You will only be oppressed and robbed continually, and no one will help you.


Or has a god attempted to go and take a nation as his own out of another nation, by trials, signs, wonders, and war, by a strong hand and an outstretched arm, by great terrors, as the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?


These people are springs without water, mists driven by a storm. The gloom of darkness has been reserved for them.


For if God didn’t spare  the angels who sinned but cast them into hell  , and delivered them in chains  of utter darkness to be kept for judgement;


They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shameful deeds; wandering stars  for whom the blackness of darkness  is reserved for ever.


and the angels  who did not keep their own position but abandoned their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains in deep darkness for the judgement on the great day.


The fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. A third of the day was without light and also a third of the night.
