TurnYour footstepstoward the perpetualruins;The enemyhas damagedeverythingwithin the sanctuary.
"So now,our God,listento the prayerof Your servantand to his supplications,and for Your sake,O Lord,let Your faceshineon Your desolatesanctuary.
The adversaryhas stretchedout his handOverallher preciousthings,For she has seenthe nationsenterher sanctuary,The ones whomYou commandedThat they should not enterinto Your congregation.
O God,the nationshave invadedYour inheritance;They have defiledYour holytemple;They have laidJerusalemin ruins.
and they will fallby the edgeof the sword,and will be led captiveinto allthe nations;and Jerusalemwill be trampled underfoot by the Gentilesuntilthe timesof the Gentilesare fulfilled.
And He [began] to teachand sayto them, "Is it not written,MY HOUSESHALL BE CALLEDA HOUSEOF PRAYERFOR ALLTHE NATIONS?But you have madeit a ROBBERS'DEN."
Therefore,on accountof you Zionwill be plowedas a field,Jerusalemwill becomea heapof ruins,And the mountainof the temple[will become] highplacesof a forest.
For behold,the LORDis comingforthfrom His place.He will comedownand treadon the highplacesof the earth.
"Forcesfrom him will arise,desecratethe sanctuaryfortress,and doawaywith the regularsacrifice.And they will setup the abominationof desolation.
"And he will makea firmcovenantwith the manyfor oneweek,but in the middleof the weekhe will puta stopto sacrificeand grain offering;and on the wingof abominations[will come] one who makesdesolate,even untila completedestruction,one that is decreed,is pouredout on the one who makesdesolate."
He burnedthe houseof the LORD,the king'shouseand allthe housesof Jerusalem;even everylargehousehe burnedwith fire.
Then they will rebuildthe ancientruins,They will raiseup the formerdevastations;And they will repairthe ruinedcities,The desolationsof manygenerations.
For the handof the LORDwill reston thismountain,And Moabwill be troddendownin his placeAs strawis troddendownin the waterof a manurepile.
I sendit against a godlessnationAnd commissionit againstthe peopleof My furyTo capturebootyand to seizeplunder,And to tramplethem downlike mudin the streets.
Riseup, be our help,And redeemus for the sakeof Your lovingkindness.
ArouseYourself, whydo You sleep,O Lord?Awake,do not rejectus forever.
So I wentout at nightby the ValleyGatein the directionof the Dragon'sWelland [on] to the RefuseGate,inspectingthe wallsof Jerusalemwhichwere brokendownand its gateswhich were consumedby fire.
I saidto the king,"Let the kingliveforever.Whyshould my facenot be sadwhenthe city,the placeof my fathers'tombs,lies desolateand its gateshave been consumedby fire?"
They saidto me, "The remnanttherein the provincewhosurvivedthe captivityare in greatdistressand reproach,and the wallof Jerusalemis brokendownand its gatesare burnedwith fire."
When they broughtthesekingsout to Joshua,Joshuacalledfor allthe menof Israel,and saidto the chiefsof the menof warwho had gonewith him, "Comenear,putyour feeton the necksof thesekings."So they camenearand puttheir feeton their necks.
"Leaveout the courtwhich is outsidethe templeand do not measureit, for it has been givento the nations;and they will tread under footthe holycityfor forty-twomonths.
He burnedthe houseof the LORD,the king'shouse,and allthe housesof Jerusalem;even everygreathousehe burnedwith fire.
