Now the sonsof Reubenand the sonsof Gadhadan exceedinglylargenumberof livestock.So when they sawthe landof Jazerand the landof Gilead,that it was indeeda placesuitablefor livestock,
Now Abramwas veryrichin livestock,in silverand in gold.
Now Lot,who wentwith Abram,alsohadflocksand herdsand tents.
Leahconceivedand borea sonand namedhim Reuben,for she said,"Becausethe LORDhas seenmy affliction;surelynowmy husbandwill loveme."
They saidto Pharaoh,"We have cometo sojournin the land,for thereis nopasturefor your servants'flocks,for the famineis severein the landof Canaan.Now,therefore, pleaselet your servantslivein the landof Goshen."
They crossedthe Jordanand campedin Aroer,on the rightsideof the citythat is in the middleof the valleyof Gadand towardJazer.
Then they cameto Gileadand to the landof Tahtim-hodshi,and they cameto Dan-jaanand aroundto Sidon,
These,recordedby name,camein the daysof Hezekiahkingof Judah,and attackedtheir tentsand the Meuniteswhowere foundthere,and destroyedthem utterlyto thisday,and livedin their place,becausethere was pasturetherefor their flocks.
A mixedmultitudealsowentup with them, along with flocksand herds,a verylargenumberof livestock.
For thussaysthe LORDconcerningthe houseof the kingof Judah:"You are [like] Gileadto Me, [Like] the summitof Lebanon;Yet mostassuredlyI will makeyou like a wilderness,[Like] citieswhich are not inhabited.
"Morethanthe weepingfor JazerI will weepfor you, O vineof Sibmah!Your tendrilsstretchedacrossthe sea,They reachedto the seaof Jazer;Upon your summerfruitsand your grapeharvestThe destroyerhas fallen.
And I will bringIsraelbackto his pastureand he will grazeon Carmeland Bashan,and his desirewill be satisfiedin the hillcountryof Ephraimand Gilead.
Is therenobalmin Gilead?Is therenophysicianthere?Whythenhas not the healthof the daughterof my peoplebeen restored?
ShepherdYour peoplewith Your scepter,The flockof Your possessionWhich dwellsby itselfin the woodland,In the midstof a fruitfulfield.Let them feedin Bashanand GileadAs in the daysof old.
Mosessentto spyout Jazer,and they capturedits villagesand dispossessedthe Amoriteswho[were] there.
the sonsof Gadand the sonsof Reubencameand spoketo Mosesand to Eleazarthe priestand to the leadersof the congregation,saying,
"Our littleones,our wives,our livestockand allour cattleshall remaintherein the citiesof Gilead;
"Ataroth,Dibon,Jazer,Nimrah,Heshbon,Elealeh,Sebam,Neboand Beon,
and Atroth-shophanand Jazerand Jogbehah,
"Then he providedthe first[part] for himself, For therethe ruler'sportionwas reserved;And he came[with] the leadersof the people;He executedthe justiceof the LORD,And His ordinanceswith Israel."
Their territorywas Jazer,and allthe citiesof Gilead,and halfthe landof the sonsof Ammon,as faras Aroerwhichis beforeRabbah;
Then the sonsof Israelsentto the sonsof Reubenand to the sonsof Gadand to the half-tribeof Manasseh,into the landof Gilead,Phinehasthe sonof Eleazarthe priest,
The sonsof Reubenand the sonsof Gadand the half-tribeof Manassehreturned[home] and departedfrom the sonsof Israelat Shilohwhichis in the landof Canaan,to goto the landof Gilead,to the landof their possessionwhichthey had possessed,accordingto the commandof the LORDthroughMoses.
For allthat is in the world,the lustof the fleshand the lustof the eyesand the boastful prideof life,is not from the Father,but is from the world.
"Whydid you sitamongthe sheepfolds,To hearthe pipingfor the flocks?Among the divisionsof Reuben[There were] greatsearchingsof heart.
