"They capturedfortifiedcitiesand a fertileland.They tookpossessionof housesfullof everygoodthing,Hewncisterns,vineyards,olivegroves,Fruittreesin abundance.So they ate,were filledand grewfat,And reveledin Your greatgoodness.
you also have donemoreevilthanallwhowere beforeyou, and have goneand madefor yourself othergodsand moltenimagesto provokeMe to anger,and have castMe behindyour back--
On the eighthdayhe sentthe peopleawayand they blessedthe king.Then they wentto their tentsjoyfuland gladof heartfor allthe goodnessthat the LORDhad shownto DavidHis servantand to IsraelHis people.
"But they, in their own kingdom,With Your greatgoodnesswhichYou gavethem, With the broadand richlandwhichYou setbeforethem, Did not serveYou or turnfrom their evildeeds.
He gavethem also the landsof the nations,That they might takepossessionof [the fruit of] the peoples'labor,
You have crownedthe yearwith Your bounty,And Your pathsdrip[with] fatness.
That I not be fulland deny[You] and say,"Whois the LORD?"Or that I not be in wantand steal,And profanethe nameof my God.
"Renderthe heartsof thispeopleinsensitive,Their earsdull,And their eyesdim,Otherwisethey might seewith their eyes,Hearwith their ears,Understandwith their hearts,And returnand be healed."
I shall makementionof the lovingkindnessesof the LORD,the praisesof the LORD,Accordingto allthat the LORDhas grantedus, And the greatgoodnesstoward the houseof Israel,WhichHe has grantedthem according to His compassionAnd according to the abundanceof His lovingkindnesses.
"I broughtyou into the fruitfullandTo eatits fruitand its goodthings.But you cameand defiledMy land,And My inheritanceyou madean abomination.
"I will fillthe soulof the priestswith abundance,And My peoplewill be satisfiedwith My goodness,"declaresthe LORD.
They camein and tookpossessionof it, but they did not obeyYour voiceor walkin Your law;they have donenothingof allthat You commandedthem to do;therefore You have made allthiscalamitycomeupon them.
on that dayI sworeto them, to bringthem out from the landof Egyptinto a landthat I had selectedfor them, flowingwith milkand honey,whichis the gloryof alllands.
"In a timeof tranquilityhe will enterthe richest[parts] of the realm,and he will accomplishwhathis fathersneverdid,norhis ancestors;he will distributeplunder,bootyand possessionsamong them, and he will devisehis schemesagainststrongholds,but [only] for a time.
As [they had] their pasture,they becamesatisfied,And beingsatisfied,their heartbecameproud;Thereforethey forgotMe.
Afterwardthe sonsof Israelwill returnand seekthe LORDtheir Godand Davidtheir king;and they will cometremblingto the LORDand to His goodnessin the lastdays.
Ordo you think lightlyof the richesof His kindnessand toleranceand patience,not knowingthat the kindnessof Godleadsyou to repentance?
"Allthesewere citiesfortifiedwith highwalls,gatesand bars,besidesa greatmanyunwalledtowns.
"He made him rideon the highplacesof the earth,And he atethe produceof the field;And He made him suckhoneyfrom the rock,And oilfrom the flintyrock,
Curdsof cows,and milkof the flock,With fatof lambs,And rams,the breedof Bashan,and goats,With the finestof the wheat--And of the bloodof grapesyou drankwine.
"But Jeshurungrewfatand kicked--You are grownfat,thick,and sleek--Then he forsookGodwho madehim, And scornedthe Rockof his salvation.
