Then the Philistinesseizedhim and gougedout his eyes;and they broughthim downto Gazaand boundhim with bronzechains,and he was a grinderin the prison.
They slaughteredthe sonsof Zedekiahbefore his eyes,then putout the eyesof Zedekiahand boundhim with bronzefettersand broughthim to Babylon.
Therefore the LORDbroughtthe commandersof the armyof the kingof Assyriaagainstthem, and they capturedManassehwith hooks,boundhim with bronze[chains] and tookhim to Babylon.
To bindtheir kingswith chainsAnd their nobleswith fettersof iron,
and allthe firstbornin the landof Egyptshall die,from the firstbornof the Pharaohwho sitson his throne,evento the firstbornof the slavegirlwhois behindthe millstones;allthe firstbornof the cattleas well.
The backsliderin heartwill havehis fillof his own ways,But a goodmanwill [be satisfied] with his.
Nonewho goto her returnagain, Nordo they reachthe pathsof life.
His own iniquitieswill capturethe wicked,And he will be heldwith the cordsof his sin.
"Takethe millstonesand grindmeal.Removeyour veil,stripoffthe skirt,Uncoverthe leg,crossthe rivers.
He then blindedZedekiah'seyesand boundhim in fettersof bronzeto bringhim to Babylon.
Youngmenworkedat the grindingmill,And youthsstumbledunder [loads] of wood.
"Indeed,you have not broughtus into a landflowingwith milkand honey,norhave you givenus an inheritanceof fieldsand vineyards.Would you putout the eyesof thesemen?We will not comeup!"
"Twowomen [will be] grindingat the mill;onewill be takenand onewill be left.
She said,"The Philistinesare upon you, Samson!"And he awokefrom his sleepand said,"I will goout as at othertimesand shakemyself free."But he did not knowthat the LORDhad departedfrom him.
However, the hairof his headbeganto growagain afterit was shavedoff.
