Let the priests,the LORD'Sministers,Weepbetweenthe porchand the altar,And let them say,"SpareYour people,O LORD,And do not makeYour inheritancea reproach,A bywordamong the nations.Whyshould they among the peoplessay,Whereis their God?'"
The porchin frontof the naveof the house[was] twentycubitsin length,correspondingto the widthof the house,[and] its depthalongthe frontof the house[was] tencubits.
then I will cutoffIsraelfrom the landwhichI have giventhem, and the housewhichI have consecratedfor My name,I will castout of My sight.So Israelwill becomea proverband a bywordamong allpeoples.
then I will uprootyou from My landwhichI have givenyou, and thishousewhichI have consecratedfor My nameI will castout of My sightand I will makeit a proverband a bywordamong allpeoples.
ThenSolomonofferedburntofferingsto the LORDon the altarof the LORDwhichhe had builtbeforethe porch;
"Behold,we are slavestoday,And as to the landwhichYou gaveto our fathersto eatof its fruitand its bounty,Behold,we are slavesin it.
Whyshould the nationssay,"Where,now,is their God?"
As a shatteringof my bones,my adversariesrevileme, While they sayto me alldaylong, "Whereis your God?"
Whyare you in despair,O my soul?And whyhave you becomedisturbedwithinme? Hopein God,for I shall yetpraiseHim, The helpof my countenanceand my God.
My tearshave beenmy fooddayand night,While [they] sayto me alldaylong, "Whereis your God?"
ThesethingsI rememberand I pourout my soulwithinme. For I used to goalongwith the throng[and] leadthem in processionto the houseof God,With the voiceof joyand thanksgiving,a multitudekeepingfestival.
Howlong,O God,will the adversaryrevile,[And] the enemyspurnYour nameforever?
Whyshould the nationssay,"Whereis their God?"Let there be knownamong the nationsin our sight,Vengeancefor the bloodof Your servantswhich has been shed.
We havebecomea reproachto our neighbors,A scoffingand derisionto those aroundus.
Allwho passalongthe wayplunderhim; He hasbecomea reproachto his neighbors.
With whichYour enemieshave reproached,O LORD,With whichthey have reproachedthe footstepsof Your anointed.
He said,"IfnowI have foundfavorin Your sight,O Lord,I pray,let the Lordgoalong in our midst,eventhoughthe peopleare so obstinate,and pardonour iniquityand our sin,and takeus as Your own possession."
Therefore in that daythe LordGODof hostscalled[you] to weeping,to wailing,To shavingthe headand to wearingsackcloth.
"Now,O LORDour God,deliverus from his handthat allthe kingdomsof the earthmay knowthat You alone,LORD,are God."
"But I actedfor the sakeof My name,that it should not be profanedin the sightof the nationsamongwhomthey [lived], in whosesightI madeMyself knownto them by bringingthem out of the landof Egypt.
Then He broughtme into the innercourtof the LORD'Shouse.And behold,at the entranceto the templeof the LORD,betweenthe porchand the altar,[were] about twenty-fivemenwith their backsto the templeof the LORDand their facestoward the east;and they were prostratingthemselves eastwardtoward the sun.
Takewordswith you and returnto the LORD.Sayto Him, "Takeaway alliniquityAnd receive[us] graciously,That we may presentthe fruitof our lips.
Girdyourselves[with sackcloth] And lament,O priests;Wail,O ministersof the altar!Come,spendthe nightin sackclothO ministersof my God,For the grain offeringand the drinkofferingAre withheldfrom the houseof your God.
The grain offeringand the drinkofferingare cutoffFrom the houseof the LORD.The priestsmourn,The ministersof the LORD.
And it cameabout, whenit had finishedeatingthe vegetationof the land,that I said,"LordGOD,pleasepardon!Howcan Jacobstand,For he is small?"
Then I said,"LordGOD,pleasestop!Howcan Jacobstand,for he is small?"
Then my enemywill see,And shamewill coverher who saidto me, "Whereis the LORDyour God?"My eyeswill lookon her; At that timeshe will be trampleddownLike mireof the streets.
"But nowwill you not entreatGod'sfavor,that He may be graciousto us? With suchan offering on your part,will He receiveanyof you kindly?"saysthe LORDof hosts.
Then behold,oneof the sonsof Israelcameand broughtto his relativesa Midianitewoman,in the sightof Mosesand in the sightof allthe congregationof the sonsof Israel,while they were weepingat the doorwayof the tentof meeting.
sothat upon you may fall[the guilt of] allthe righteousbloodshedon earth,from the bloodof righteousAbelto the bloodof Zechariah,the sonof Berechiah,whomyou murderedbetweenthe templeand the altar.
"HE TRUSTSIN GOD;LET GODRESCUE[Him] now,IFHE DELIGHTSIN HIM; for He said,'I amthe Sonof God.'"
"You shall becomea horror,a proverb,and a tauntamong allthe peoplewherethe LORDdrivesyou.
Had I not fearedthe provocationby the enemy,That their adversarieswould misjudge,That they would say,"Our handis triumphant,And the LORDhas not doneallthis."'
"For the Canaanitesand allthe inhabitantsof the landwill hearof it, and they will surroundus and cutoffour namefrom the earth.And whatwill You dofor Your greatname?"
