He struckdowntheir vinesalso and their figtrees,And shatteredthe treesof their territory.
The locustscameup overallthe landof Egyptand settledin allthe territoryof Egypt;[they were] verynumerous.There had neverbeenso[many] locusts,norwould there be so[many] again.
For they coveredthe surfaceof the wholeland,so that the landwas darkened;and they ateeveryplantof the landand allthe fruitof the treesthat the hailhad left.Thus nothinggreenwas lefton treeor plantof the fieldthrough allthe landof Egypt.
The newwinemourns,The vinedecays,Allthe merry-heartedsigh.
Beatyour breastsfor the pleasantfields,for the fruitfulvine,
"I will layit waste;It will not be prunedor hoed,But briarsand thornswill comeup. I will also chargethe cloudsto rainnorainon it."

"I smoteyou with scorching[wind] and mildew;And the caterpillarwas devouringYour manygardensand vineyards,figtreesand olivetrees;Yet you have not returnedto Me," declaresthe LORD.
Thoughthe figtreeshould not blossomAnd therebe nofruiton the vines,[Though] the yieldof the oliveshould failAnd the fieldsproducenofood,Though the flockshould be cutofffrom the foldAnd therebe nocattlein the stalls,
"Then I will rebukethe devourerfor you, so that it will not destroythe fruitsof the ground;norwill your vinein the fieldcast[its grapes]," saysthe LORDof hosts.
