Is it rightfor You indeedto oppress,To rejectthe laborof Your hands,And to lookfavorablyon the schemesof the wicked?
"He makes counselorswalkbarefootAnd makesfoolsof judges.
"Godhandsme overto ruffiansAnd tossesme into the handsof the wicked.
"Behold,I cry,'Violence!'but I getnoanswer;I shoutfor help,but thereis nojustice.
"But the earthbelongs to the mightyman,And the honorableman dwellsin it.
"From the citymengroan,And the soulsof the woundedcryout; Yet Goddoes not payattentionto folly.
"Now ifit is not so,whocan proveme a liar,And makemy speechworthless?"
But the angerof Elihuthe sonof Barachelthe Buzite,of the familyof Ramburned;against Jobhis angerburnedbecausehe justifiedhimselfbeforeGod.
From menwith Your hand,O LORD,From menof the world,whose portionis in [this] life,And whose bellyYou fillwith Your treasure;They are satisfiedwith children,And leavetheir abundanceto their babes.
Then I lookedagainat allthe actsof oppressionwhichwere being doneunderthe sun.And behold[I saw] the tearsof the oppressedand [that] they hadnooneto comfort[them]; and on the sideof their oppressorswas power,but they hadnooneto comfort[them].
"Becausethe groundis cracked,For there has beennorainon the land;The farmershave beenputto shame,They have coveredtheir heads.
"This sentenceis by the decreeof the [angelic] watchersAnd the decisionis a commandof the holyones,In orderthat the livingmay knowThat the MostHighis rulerover the realmof mankind,And bestowsit on whomHe wishesAnd setsoverit the lowliestof men."
You have weariedthe LORDwith your words.Yet you say,"Howhave we wearied[Him]?" In that you say,"Everyonewho doesevilis goodin the sightof the LORD,and He delightsin them," or,"Whereis the Godof justice?"
