"Ifit is pleasingto the king,let it be decreedthat they be destroyed,and I will paytenthousandtalentsof silverinto the handsof those who carryon the [king's] business,to putinto the king's treasuries."
Hamanrecountedto Zereshhis wifeand allhis friendseverythingthat had happenedto him. Then his wisemenand Zereshhis wifesaidto him, "IfMordecai,beforewhomyou have begunto fall,is of Jewishorigin,you will not overcomehim, but will surelyfallbeforehim."
So they hangedHamanon the gallowswhichhe had preparedfor Mordecai,and the king'sangersubsided.
Then KingAhasuerusaskedQueenEsther,"Whois he, and whereis he, whowould presumeto dothus?"
"A snareseizes[him] by the heel,[And] a trapsnapsshuton him.
Knowthenthat Godhas wrongedme And has closedHis netaroundme.
"Thereforesnaressurroundyou, And suddendreadterrifiesyou,
"His harvestthe hungrydevourAnd takeit to a [place of] thorns,And the schemeris eagerfor their wealth.
Let destructioncomeupon him unawares,And let the netwhichhe hidcatchhimself; Into that very destructionlet him fall.
The nationshave sunkdownin the pitwhich they have made;In the netwhichthey hid,their own foothas been caught.
By transgressionan evilmanis ensnared,But the righteoussingsand rejoices.
His own iniquitieswill capturethe wicked,And he will be heldwith the cordsof his sin.
Terrorand pitand snareConfrontyou, O inhabitantof the earth.
Then it will be that he who fleesthe reportof disasterwill fallinto the pit,And he who climbsout of the pitwill be caughtin the snare;For the windowsaboveare opened,and the foundationsof the earthshake.
Thussaysthe LordGOD,"Now I will spreadMy netoveryou With a companyof manypeoples,And they shall liftyou up in My net.
And he musthavea goodreputationwith thoseoutside[the church], sothat he will not fallinto reproachand the snareof the devil.
But thosewho wantto get richfallinto temptationand a snareand manyfoolishand harmfuldesireswhichplungemeninto ruinand destruction.
and they may come to their senses[and escape] from the snareof the devil,having been held captiveby him to do his will.
