For he builtaltarsfor allthe hostof heavenin the twocourtsof the houseof the LORD.
He didawaywith the idolatrouspriestswhomthe kingsof Judahhad appointedto burnincensein the highplacesin the citiesof Judahand in the surroundingareaof Jerusalem,also those who burnedincenseto Baal,to the sunand to the moonand to the constellationsand to allthe hostof heaven.
Therethey were in greatfear[where] nofearhad been;For Godscatteredthe bonesof him who encampedagainst you; You put[them] to shame,becauseGodhad rejectedthem.
Who were destroyedat En-dor,Who becameas dungfor the ground.

Ifa manfathersa hundred[children] and livesmanyyears,however manythey be, but his soulis not satisfiedwith goodthingsand he does not evenhavea [proper] burial,[then] I say,"Betterthe miscarriagethanhe,

Thereforethussaysthe LORDconcerningJehoiakimkingof Judah,"He shall havenoone to siton the throneof David,and his deadbodyshall be castout to the heatof the dayand the frostof the night.
Nowhearthe wordof the LORD,O you women,And let your earreceivethe wordof His mouth;Teachyour daughterswailing,And everyoneher neighbora dirge.
For deathhas comeup through our windows;It has enteredour palacesTo cutoffthe childrenfrom the streets,The youngmenfrom the townsquares.
Speak,"Thussaysthe LORD,'The corpsesof menwill falllike dungon the openfield,And like the sheafafterthe reaper,But noonewill gather[them].'"
"I will abandonyou to the wilderness,you and allthe fishof your rivers;You will fallon the openfield;you will not be broughttogetheror gathered.I have givenyou for foodto the beastsof the earthand to the birdsof the sky.

Then He broughtme into the innercourtof the LORD'Shouse.And behold,at the entranceto the templeof the LORD,betweenthe porchand the altar,[were] about twenty-fivemenwith their backsto the templeof the LORDand their facestoward the east;and they were prostratingthemselves eastwardtoward the sun.
I will bringdistresson menSo that they will walklike the blind,Becausethey have sinnedagainst the LORD;And their bloodwill be pouredout like dustAnd their fleshlike dung.
"And those who bowdownon the housetopsto the hostof heaven,And those who bowdown[and] swearto the LORDand [yet] swearby Milcom,
"But Godturned awayand deliveredthem up to servethe hostof heaven;as it is writtenin the bookof the prophets,IT WAS NOT TO ME THAT YOU OFFEREDVICTIMSAND SACRIFICESFORTYYEARSIN THE WILDERNESS,WAS IT, O HOUSEOF ISRAEL?
and has goneand servedothergodsand worshipedthem, or the sunorthe moonoranyof the heavenlyhost,whichI have not commanded,
"And [beware] not to liftup your eyesto heavenand seethe sunand the moonand the stars,allthe hostof heaven,and be drawnawayand worshipthem and servethem, those whichthe LORDyour Godhas allottedto allthe peoplesunderthe wholeheaven.
