We applied healingto Babylon,but she was not healed;Forsakeher and let us eachgoto his own country,For her judgmenthas reachedto heavenAnd towersup to the very skies.
But a prophetof the LORDwas there,whose name[was] Oded;and he wentout to meetthe armywhich cameto Samariaand saidto them, "Behold,because the LORD,the Godof your fathers,was angrywith Judah,He has deliveredthem into your hand,and you have slainthem in a rage[which] has evenreachedheaven.
and I said,"O my God,I am ashamedand embarrassedto liftup my faceto You, my God,for our iniquitieshave risenaboveour headsand our guilthas grownevento the heavens.
And it will be that like a huntedgazelle,Or like sheepwith noneto gather[them], They will eachturnto his own people,And eachonefleeto his own land.
"Sohave those becometo you with whomyou have labored,Who have traffickedwith you from your youth;Eachhas wanderedin his own way;Thereis noneto saveyou.
"They have repeatedlystumbled;Indeed,they have fallenoneagainstanother.Then they said,'Getup! And let us gobackTo our own peopleand our nativelandAway from the swordof the oppressor.'
"Alsoher mercenariesin her midstAre like fattenedcalves,For eventhey toohave turnedback[and] have fledaway together;They did not stand[their ground]. For the dayof their calamityhas comeupon them, The timeof their punishment.
"Cutoffthe sowerfrom BabylonAnd the one who wieldsthe sickleat the timeof harvest;From beforethe swordof the oppressorThey will eachturnbackto his own peopleAnd they will eachfleeto his own land.
"Harvestis past,summeris ended,And we are not saved."
Woeto them, for they have strayedfrom Me! Destructionis theirs, for they have rebelledagainst Me! I would redeemthem, but they speakliesagainstMe.
I heardanothervoicefrom heaven,saying,"Comeout of her, my people,sothat you will not participatein her sinsand receiveof her plagues;
for her sinshave piledup as highas heaven,and Godhas rememberedher iniquities.
