Fearnot, O JacobMy servant,'declaresthe LORD,'And do not be dismayed,O Israel;For behold,I will saveyou from afarAnd your offspringfrom the landof their captivity.And Jacobwill returnand will be quietand at ease,And noonewill makehim afraid.
Afterthesethingsthe wordof the LORDcameto Abramin a vision,saying,"Do not fear,Abram,I am a shieldto you; Your rewardshall be verygreat."
And it will be in the daywhen the LORDgivesyou restfrom your painand turmoiland harshservicein whichyou have been enslaved,
Nolionwill be there,Norwill any viciousbeastgoup on it; These will not be foundthere.But the redeemedwill walk[there],
"Do not fear,for I am with you; I will bringyour offspringfrom the east,And gatheryou from the west.
"But nowlisten,O Jacob,My servant,And Israel,whom I have chosen:
Thussaysthe LORDwho madeyou And formedyou from the womb,who will helpyou, 'Do not fear,O JacobMy servant;And you Jeshurunwhom I have chosen.
Callinga birdof preyfrom the east,The manof My purposefrom a farcountry.TrulyI have spoken;trulyI will bringit to pass.I have planned[it, surely] I will doit.
"I bringnearMy righteousness,it is not faroff; And My salvationwill not delay.And I will grantsalvationin Zion,[And] My gloryfor Israel.
"Behold,thesewill comefrom afar;And lo,these[will come] from the northand from the west,And thesefrom the landof Sinim."
Surely,thussaysthe LORD,"Eventhe captivesof the mightymanwill be takenaway, And the preyof the tyrantwill be rescued;For I will contendwith the onewhocontendswith you, And I will saveyour sons.
"Fearnot, for you will not be putto shame;And do not feelhumiliated,for you will not be disgraced;But you will forgetthe shameof your youth,And the reproachof your widowhoodyou will remembernomore.
"Then I Myselfwill gatherthe remnantof My flockout of allthe countrieswhereI have driventhem and bringthem backto their pasture,and they will be fruitfuland multiply.
"I will also raiseup shepherdsoverthem and they will tendthem; and they will not be afraidanylonger,norbe terrified,norwill any be missing,"declaresthe LORD.
"In His daysJudahwill be saved,And Israelwill dwellsecurely;And thisis His nameby whichHe will be called,The LORDour righteousness.'
but, 'As the LORDlives,whobroughtup and ledback the descendantsof the householdof Israelfrom [the] northlandand from allthe countrieswhereI had driventhem.' Then they will liveon their own soil."
For I knowthe plansthat I havefor you,' declaresthe LORD,'plansfor welfareand not for calamityto giveyou a futureand a hope.
I will be foundby you,' declaresthe LORD,and I will restoreyour fortunesand will gatheryou from allthe nationsand from allthe placeswhereI have drivenyou,' declaresthe LORD,and I will bringyou backto the placefrom whereI sentyou into exile.'
"In thosedaysthe houseof Judahwill walkwith the houseof Israel,and they will cometogetherfrom the landof the northto the landthat I gaveyour fathersas an inheritance.
For behold,daysare coming,'declaresthe LORD,when I will restorethe fortunesof My peopleIsraeland Judah.'The LORDsays,I will also bringthem backto the landthat I gaveto their forefathersand they shall possessit.'"
Alas!for that dayis great,Thereis nonelikeit; And it is the timeof Jacob'sdistress,But he will be savedfrom it.
In thosedaysJudahwill be savedand Jerusalemwill dwellin safety;and thisis [the name] by whichshe will be called:the LORDis our righteousness.'
"Alsobearyour disgracein that you have madejudgmentfavorablefor your sisters.Because of your sinsin whichyou actedmoreabominablythanthey, they are morein the rightthanyou. Yes,be alsoashamedand bearyour disgrace,in that you madeyour sistersappear righteous.
and you will say,'I will goup againstthe landof unwalledvillages.I will goagainst those who are at rest,that livesecurely,allof them livingwithoutwallsand havingnobarsor gates,
"Now at that timeMichael,the greatprincewho stands[guard] overthe sonsof your people,will arise.And there will be a timeof distresssuchas neveroccurredsincethere was a nationuntilthat time;and at that timeyour people,everyonewho is foundwrittenin the book,will be rescued.
"In that dayI will also makea covenantfor them With the beastsof the field,The birdsof the skyAnd the creepingthingsof the ground.And I will abolishthe bow,the swordand warfrom the land,And will make them liedownin safety.
And I will betrothyou to Me in faithfulness.Then you will knowthe LORD.
Also,O Judah,there is a harvestappointed for you, When I restorethe fortunesof My people.
Do not fear,O land,rejoiceand be glad,For the LORDhas donegreatthings.
"Now,whydo you cryout loudly?Is therenokingamong you, Orhas your counselorperished,That agonyhas grippedyou like a woman in childbirth?
In that day,'declaresthe LORDof hosts,'everyoneof you will invitehis neighborto [sit] under[his] vineand under[his] figtree.'"
