But you have dishonoredthe poor man.Is it not the richwho oppressyou and personallydragyou into court?
"For he has oppressed[and] forsakenthe poor;He has seizeda housewhich he has not built.
He crouches,he bowsdown,And the unfortunatefallby his mightyones.
You have seen[it], for You have beheldmischiefand vexationto takeit into Your hand.The unfortunatecommits[himself] to You; You have beenthe helperof the orphan.
In pridethe wickedhotlypursuethe afflicted;Let them be caughtin the plotswhichthey have devised.
He sitsin the lurkingplacesof the villages;In the hidingplaceshe killsthe innocent;His eyesstealthilywatchfor the unfortunate.
"Becauseof the devastationof the afflicted,becauseof the groaningof the needy,NowI will arise,"saysthe LORD;"I will sethim in the safetyfor which he longs."
You would putto shamethe counselof the afflicted,But the LORDis his refuge.
He who oppressesthe poortauntshis Maker,But he who is graciousto the needyhonorsHim.
He who mocksthe poortauntshis Maker;He who rejoicesat calamitywill not gounpunished.
The poormanutterssupplications,But the richmananswersroughly.
He who oppressesthe poorto makemorefor himself Or who givesto the rich,[will] only[come to] poverty.
The richrulesover the poor,And the borrower[becomes] the lender'sslave.
Ifyou seeoppressionof the poorand denialof justiceand righteousnessin the province,do not be shockedat the sight;for one officialwatchesoveranother official,and there are higherofficialsoverthem.
He was despisedand forsakenof men,A manof sorrowsand acquaintedwith grief;And like one from whom men hidetheir faceHe was despised,and we did not esteemHim.
Hearthisword,you cowsof Bashanwhoare on the mountainof Samaria,Who oppressthe poor,who crushthe needy,Who sayto your husbands,"Bringnow, that we may drink!"

What!Do you not havehousesin which to eatand drink?Ordo you despisethe churchof Godand shamethosewho havenothing?Whatshall I sayto you? Shall I praiseyou? In thisI will not praiseyou.
and you pay special attentionto the one who is wearingthe fineclothes,and say,"You sitherein a goodplace," and you sayto the poor man,"You standover there,orsit downby my footstool,"
Behold,the payof the laborerswho mowedyour fields,[and] which has been withheldby you, criesout [against you]; and the outcryof thosewho did the harvestinghas reachedthe earsof the Lordof Sabaoth.
You have condemnedand put to deaththe righteous[man]; he does not resistyou.
