So the LORDwas veryangrywith Israeland removedthem from His sight;nonewas leftexceptthe tribeof Judah.

For the LORDhumbledJudahbecauseof Ahazkingof Israel,for he had broughtabout a lackof restraintin Judahand was veryunfaithfulto the LORD.
"Go,inquireof the LORDfor me and for those who are leftin Israeland in Judah,concerningthe wordsof the bookwhichhas been found;for greatis the wrathof the LORDwhichis pouredout on us becauseour fathershave not observedthe wordof the LORD,to doaccording to allthat is writtenin thisbook."
Therefore He saidthat He would destroythem, Had not MosesHis chosenone stoodin the breachbeforeHim, To turnawayHis wrathfrom destroying[them].
"Thesethingsyou have doneand I keptsilence;You thoughtthat I was just likeyou; I will reproveyou and state[the case] in orderbefore your eyes.
The daughterof Zionis leftlike a shelterin a vineyard,Like a watchman'shutin a cucumberfield,like a besiegedcity.
Unlessthe LORDof hostsHad leftus a fewsurvivors,We would be like Sodom,We would be likeGomorrah.
Now in that daythe remnantof Israel,and those of the houseof Jacobwhohave escaped,will neveragainrelyon the one who struckthem, but will trulyrelyon the LORD,the HolyOneof Israel.
For thoughyour people,O Israel,may be like the sandof the sea,[Only] a remnantwithin them will return;A destructionis determined,overflowingwith righteousness.
Then it will happenon that daythat the LordWill againrecoverthe secondtimewith His handThe remnantof His people,whowill remain,From Assyria,Egypt,Pathros,Cush,Elam,Shinar,Hamath,And from the islandsof the sea.
Then Rabshakehstoodand criedwith a loudvoicein Judeanand said,"Hearthe wordsof the greatking,the kingof Assyria.
[Beware] that Hezekiahdoes not misleadyou, saying,"The LORDwill deliverus." Has anyoneof the godsof the nationsdeliveredhis landfrom the handof the kingof Assyria?
Whoamong allthe godsof theselandshave deliveredtheir landfrom my hand,that the LORDwould deliverJerusalemfrom my hand?'"
"InclineYour ear,O LORD,and hear;openYour eyes,O LORD,and see;and listento allthe wordsof Sennacherib,who sent[them] to reproachthe livingGod.
"The survivingremnantof the houseof Judahwill againtake rootdownwardand bearfruitupward.
"For out of Jerusalemwill gofortha remnantand out of MountZionsurvivors.The zealof the LORDof hostswill performthis."'
So the servantsof KingHezekiahcameto Isaiah.
"Do not fear,you wormJacob,you menof Israel;I will helpyou," declaresthe LORD,"and your Redeemeris the HolyOneof Israel.
"Listento Me, O houseof Jacob,And allthe remnantof the houseof Israel,You who have been borneby Me from birthAnd have been carriedfrom the womb;
"Did Hezekiahkingof Judahand allJudahputhim to death?Did he not fearthe LORDand entreatthe favorof the LORD,and the LORDchangedHis mindaboutthe misfortunewhichHe had pronouncedagainstthem? But we are committinga greatevilagainstourselves."
and saidto Jeremiahthe prophet,"Pleaselet our petitioncomebeforeyou, and prayfor us to the LORDyour God,[that is] for allthisremnant;becausewe are left[but] a fewout of many,as your own eyes[now] seeus,
so that they might requestcompassionfrom the Godof heavenconcerningthismystery,sothat Danieland his friendswould not be destroyedwith the restof the wisemenof Babylon.
Let the priests,the LORD'Sministers,Weepbetweenthe porchand the altar,And let them say,"SpareYour people,O LORD,And do not makeYour inheritancea reproach,A bywordamong the nations.Whyshould they among the peoplessay,Whereis their God?'"
Hateevil,lovegood,And establishjusticein the gate!Perhapsthe LORDGodof hostsMay be graciousto the remnantof Joseph.
And it cameabout, whenit had finishedeatingthe vegetationof the land,that I said,"LordGOD,pleasepardon!Howcan Jacobstand,For he is small?"
Isaiahcriesout concerningIsrael,"THOUGHTHE NUMBEROF THE SONSOF ISRAELBE LIKETHE SANDOF THE SEA,IT IS THE REMNANTTHAT WILL BE SAVED;
Therefore,confessyour sinsto oneanother,and prayfor one anothersothat you may be healed.The effectiveprayerof a righteous mancanaccomplishmuch.
"Nowthen, giveme thishillcountryabout whichthe LORDspokeon that day,for you heardon that daythat Anakim[were] there,with greatfortifiedcities;perhapsthe LORDwill be with me, and I will drivethem out as the LORDhas spoken."
Then allthe peoplesaidto Samuel,"Prayfor your servantsto the LORDyour God,so that we may not die,for we have addedto allour sins[this] evilby askingfor ourselves a king."
"Moreover,as for me, farbe it from me that I should sinagainst the LORDby ceasingto prayfor you; but I will instructyou in the goodand rightway.
Then Jonathansaidto the youngmanwho was carryinghis armor,"Comeand let us crossoverto the garrisonof theseuncircumcised;perhapsthe LORDwill workfor us, for the LORDis not restrainedto saveby manyorby few."
Then Davidspoketo the menwho were standingby him, saying,"Whatwill be donefor the manwhokillsthisPhilistineand takesawaythe reproachfrom Israel?For whois thisuncircumcisedPhilistine,that he should tauntthe armiesof the livingGod?"
"Your servanthas killedboththe lionand the bear;and thisuncircumcisedPhilistinewill be like oneof them, sincehe has tauntedthe armiesof the livingGod."
Then the sonsof Israelsaidto Samuel,"Do not ceaseto cryto the LORDour Godfor us, that He may saveus from the handof the Philistines."
