"Do not rejoice,O Philistia,allof you, Becausethe rodthat struckyou is broken;For from the serpent'sroota viperwill comeout, And its fruitwill be a flyingserpent.
He defeatedthe Philistinesas faras Gazaand its territory,from watchtowerto fortifiedcity.
Now he wentout and warredagainst the Philistines,and brokedownthe wallof Gathand the wallof Jabnehand the wallof Ashdod;and he builtcitiesin [the area of] Ashdodand among the Philistines.
The Philistinesalso had invadedthe citiesof the lowlandand of the Negevof Judah,and had takenBeth-shemesh,Aijalon,Gederoth,and Socowith its villages,Timnahwith its villages,and Gimzowith its villages,and they settledthere.
Do not rejoicewhen your enemyfalls,And do not let your heartbe gladwhen he stumbles;
They will swoopdownon the slopesof the Philistineson the west;Togetherthey will plunderthe sonsof the east;They will possessEdomand Moab,And the sonsof Ammonwill be subjectto them.
The nursingchild will playby the holeof the cobra,And the weanedchild will puthis handon the viper'sden.
"Wail,O gate;cry,O city;Meltaway, O Philistia,allof you; For smokecomesfrom the north,And thereis nostragglerin his ranks.
For You have abandonedYour people,the houseof Jacob,Becausethey are filled[with influences] from the east,And [they are] soothsayerslike the Philistines,And they strike[bargains] with the childrenof foreigners.

Thussaysthe LordGOD,"Becausethe Philistineshave actedin revengeand have takenvengeancewith scornof soulto destroywith everlastingenmity,"
"Sonof man,becauseTyrehas saidconcerningJerusalem,'Aha,the gatewayof the peoplesis broken;it has openedto me. I shall be filled,[now that] she is laidwaste,'
"As you rejoicedover the inheritanceof the houseof Israelbecauseit was desolate,soI will doto you. You will be a desolation,O MountSeir,and allEdom,allof it. Then they will knowthat I am the LORD."'
Do not rejoice,O Israel,with exultationlike the nations!For you have playedthe harlot,forsakingyour God.You have loved[harlots]' earningson everythreshingfloor.
"Moreover,whatare you to Me, O Tyre,Sidonand allthe regionsof Philistia?Are you renderingMe a recompense?But ifyou do recompenseMe, swiftlyand speedilyI will returnyour recompenseon your head.
Thussaysthe LORD,"For threetransgressionsof Gazaand for fourI will not revokeits [punishment], Becausethey deportedan entirepopulationTo deliver[it] up to Edom.
"I will also cutoffthe inhabitantfrom Ashdod,And him who holdsthe scepter,from Ashkelon;I will even unleashMy powerupon Ekron,And the remnantof the Philistineswill perish,"Saysthe LordGOD.
"Do not gloatover your brother'sday,The dayof his misfortune.And do not rejoiceover the sonsof JudahIn the dayof their destruction;Yes, do not boastIn the dayof [their] distress.
Do not rejoiceover me, O my enemy.ThoughI fallI will rise;ThoughI dwellin darkness,the LORDis a lightfor me.
For Gazawill be abandonedAnd Ashkelona desolation;Ashdodwill be drivenout at noonAnd Ekronwill be uprooted.
Woeto the inhabitantsof the seacoast,The nationof the Cherethites!The wordof the LORDis againstyou, O Canaan,landof the Philistines;And I will destroyyou Sothat therewill be noinhabitant.
"In that dayyou will feelnoshameBecauseof allyour deedsBy whichyou have rebelledagainst Me; For thenI will removefrom your midstYour proud,exultingones,And you will neveragainbe haughtyOn My holymountain.
Ashkelonwill see[it] and be afraid.Gazatoo will writhein greatpain;Also Ekron,for her expectationhas beenconfounded.Moreover, the kingwill perishfrom Gaza,And Ashkelonwill not be inhabited.
