and he said,"O LORD,the Godof our fathers,are You not Godin the heavens?And are You not ruleroverallthe kingdomsof the nations?Powerand mightare in Your handso that noonecan standagainstYou.
"IfHe passesby or shutsup, Or callsan assembly,whocan restrainHim?
"But He is uniqueand whocan turnHim? And [what] His souldesires,that He does.
"Will you reallyannulMy judgment?Will you condemnMe that you may be justified?
"I knowthat You cando allthings,And that nopurposeof Yours can be thwarted.
"Were He to snatchaway,whocould restrainHim? Whocould sayto Him, 'Whatare You doing?'
The counselof the LORDstandsforever,The plansof His heartfrom generationto generation.
Manyplansare in a man'sheart,But the counselof the LORDwill stand.
Thereis nowisdomand nounderstandingAnd nocounselagainstthe LORD.
The LORDof hostshas plannedit, to defilethe prideof allbeauty,To despiseallthe honoredof the earth.
"Evenfrom eternityI am He, And thereis nonewho can deliverout of My hand;I actand whocan reverseit?"
Callinga birdof preyfrom the east,The manof My purposefrom a farcountry.TrulyI have spoken;trulyI will bringit to pass.I have planned[it, surely] I will doit.

Thereforehearthe planof the LORDwhichHe has plannedagainstEdom,and His purposeswhichHe has purposedagainstthe inhabitantsof Teman:surelythey will dragthem off,[even] the littleonesof the flock;surelyHe will maketheir pasturedesolatebecauseof them.

Whatthenshall we sayto these things?IfGod[is] for us, who[is] againstus?
