ThereforeI have hewn[them] in piecesby the prophets;I have slainthem by the wordsof My mouth;And the judgmentson you are [like] the lightthat goesforth.
"Farbe it from You to dosucha thing,to slaythe righteouswith the wicked,so that the righteousand the wickedare [treated] alike. Farbe it from You! Shall not the Judgeof allthe earthdealjustly?"
When Ahijahheardthe soundof her feetcomingin the doorway,he said,"Comein, wifeof Jeroboam,whydo you pretendto be anotherwoman?For I am sentto you [with] a harsh[message].
Now Elijahthe Tishbite,who was of the settlersof Gilead,saidto Ahab,"As the LORD,the Godof Israellives,beforewhomI stand,surelythere shall be neitherdewnor raintheseyears,exceptby my word."
When AhabsawElijah,Ahabsaidto him, "Is thisyou, you troublerof Israel?"
"It shall comeabout, the one who escapesfrom the swordof Hazael,Jehushall putto death,and the one who escapesfrom the swordof Jehu,Elishashall putto death.
Then he saidto him, "Thussaysthe LORD,'Becauseyou have sentmessengersto inquireof Baal-zebub,the godof Ekron--is it becausethereis noGodin Israelto inquireof His word?--thereforeyou shall not comedownfrom the bedwhereyou have goneup, but shall surelydie.'"
Then a lettercameto him from Elijahthe prophetsaying,"Thussaysthe LORDGodof your fatherDavid,'Becauseyou have not walkedin the waysof Jehoshaphatyour fatherand the waysof Asakingof Judah,
"He will not escapefrom darkness;The flamewill witherhis shoots,And by the breathof His mouthhe will goaway.
"Therefore,listento me, you menof understanding.Farbe it from Godto do wickedness,And from the Almightyto do wrong.
My fleshtremblesfor fearof You, And I am afraidof Your judgments.Ayin.
He will bringforthyour righteousnessas the lightAnd your judgmentas the noonday.
But with righteousnessHe will judgethe poor,And decidewith fairnessfor the afflictedof the earth;And He will strikethe earthwith the rodof His mouth,And with the breathof His lipsHe will slaythe wicked.
"Cryloudly,do not holdback;Raiseyour voicelike a trumpet,And declareto My peopletheir transgressionAnd to the houseof Jacobtheir sins.
"See,I have appointedyou thisdayoverthe nationsand overthe kingdoms,To pluckup and to breakdown,To destroyand to overthrow,To buildand to plant."
"Now behold,I have madeyou todayas a fortifiedcityand as a pillarof ironand as wallsof bronzeagainstthe wholeland,to the kingsof Judah,to its princes,to its priestsand to the peopleof the land.
then sayto them, 'Thussaysthe LORD,"BeholdI am about to fillallthe inhabitantsof thisland--the kingsthat sitfor Davidon his throne,the priests,the prophetsand allthe inhabitantsof Jerusalem--with drunkenness!
"Is not My wordlike fire?"declaresthe LORD,"and like a hammerwhich shattersa rock?
Therefore,thussaysthe LORD,the Godof hosts,"Becauseyou have spokenthisword,Behold,I am makingMy wordsin your mouthfireAnd thispeoplewood,and it will consumethem.
"Therefore,prophesyagainstthem, sonof man,prophesy!"
"Like emeryharderthanflintI have madeyour forehead.Do not be afraidof them or be dismayedbeforethem, thoughthey are a rebellioushouse."
"Sonof man,wailfor the hordesof Egyptand bringit down,her and the daughtersof the powerfulnations,to the netherworld,with those who godownto the pit;
And [it was] like the appearanceof the visionwhichI saw,like the visionwhichI sawwhen He cameto destroythe city.And the visions[were] like the visionwhichI sawby the riverChebar;and I fellon my face.
The LORDis righteouswithinher; He will donoinjustice.EverymorningHe bringsHis justiceto light;He does not fail.But the unjustknowsnoshame.
"When Mosessawit, he marveledat the sight;and as he approachedto look [more] closely,there camethe voiceof the Lord:
But becauseof your stubbornnessand unrepentantheartyou are storingup wrathfor yourselfin the dayof wrathand revelationof the righteous judgmentof God,
And takeTHE HELMETOF SALVATION,and the swordof the Spirit,whichis the wordof God.
For the wordof Godis livingand activeand sharperthananytwo-edgedsword,and piercingas faras the divisionof souland spirit,of bothjointsand marrow,and able to judgethe thoughtsand intentionsof the heart.
In His righthandHe heldsevenstars,and out of His mouthcamea sharptwo-edgedsword;and His facewas likethe sunshiningin its strength.
Thereforerepent;orelseI am comingto you quickly,and I will make waragainstthem with the swordof My mouth.
And the fourangels,who had been preparedfor the hourand dayand monthand year,were released,sothat they would killa thirdof mankind.
and they did not repentof their murdersnorof their sorceriesnorof their immoralitynorof their thefts.
Samuelsaidto Saul,"You have actedfoolishly;you have not keptthe commandmentof the LORDyour God,whichHe commandedyou, for nowthe LORDwould have establishedyour kingdomoverIsraelforever.
Samuelsaid,"Has the LORDas much delightin burntofferingsand sacrificesAs in obeyingthe voiceof the LORD?Behold,to obeyis betterthansacrifice,[And] to heedthanthe fatof rams.
Then Samuelsaid,"Bringme Agag,the kingof the Amalekites."And Agagcameto him cheerfully.And Agagsaid,"Surelythe bitternessof deathis past."
But Samuelsaid,"As your swordhas madewomenchildless,soshall your motherbe childlessamongwomen."And SamuelhewedAgagto piecesbeforethe LORDat Gilgal.
