[to be] sensible,pure,workers at home,kind,being subjectto their ownhusbands,sothat the wordof Godwill not be dishonored.
Wives,be subjectto your husbands,as is fittingin the Lord.
But I wantyou to understandthat Christis the headof everyman,and the manis the headof a woman,and Godis the headof Christ.
But [women] will be preservedthroughthe bearing of childrenifthey continuein faithand loveand sanctitywith self-restraint.
The womenare to keep silentin the churches;for they are not permittedto speak,but are to subjectthemselves, justas the Lawalsosays.
The wifedoes not haveauthority overher ownbody,but the husband[does]; and likewisealsothe husbanddoes not have authority overhis ownbody,but the wife[does].
"Whenevera womanis in laborshe haspain,becauseher hourhas come;but whenshe givesbirthto the child,she no longerremembersthe anguishbecauseof the joythat a childhas been borninto the world.
"Ifyou dowell,will not [your countenance] be liftedup? And ifyou do not dowell,sinis crouchingat the door;and its desireis for you, but you must masterit."

"Everyvowand everybindingoathto humbleherself,her husbandmay confirmit or her husbandmay annulit.
Whilethey are saying,"Peaceand safety!"thendestructionwill comeupon them suddenlylikelabor painsupon a woman with child,and they will not escape.
"When the king'sedictwhichhe will makeis heardthroughout allhis kingdom,greatas it is, then allwomenwill givehonorto their husbands,greatand small."
"You who dwellin Lebanon,Nestedin the cedars,Howyou will groanwhen pangscomeupon you, Painlike a woman in childbirth!
"Whatwill you saywhenHe appointsoveryou-- And you yourselfhad taughtthem-- Former companionsto be headoveryou? Will not pangstakeholdof you Likea womanin childbirth?
For thisreasonmy loinsare fullof anguish;Painshave seizedme like the painsof a woman in labor.I am sobewilderedI cannothear,soterrifiedI cannotsee.
They will be terrified,Painsand anguishwill takeholdof [them]; They will writhelike a woman in labor,They will lookat oneanotherin astonishment,Their facesaflame.
"Damascushas becomehelpless;She has turnedaway to flee,And panichas grippedher; Distressand pangshave takenholdof her Like a woman in childbirth.
For I hearda cryas of a woman in labor,The anguishas of one givingbirthto her firstchild,The cryof the daughterof Ziongaspingfor breath,Stretchingout her hands,[saying], "Ah,woeis me, for I faintbefore murderers."
As a resultof the anguishof His soul,He will see[it and] be satisfied;By His knowledgethe RighteousOne,My Servant,will justifythe many,As He will beartheir iniquities.
